There's no way to write him as a good guy considering how he's just actively condoned all the things the CDs have done for decades on end and made no effort to ever stop them or at least not support them. That's why I think it's weird that we're meant to care about him when he's crying about Vegapunk's death.

When One Piece ends, we'll be discussing who was the best written Admiral and it will be very hard to pick one

There's no way to write him as a good guy considering how he's just actively condoned all the things the CDs have done for decades on end and made no effort to ever stop them or at least not support them. That's why I think it's weird that we're meant to care about him when he's crying about Vegapunk's death.

He was able to stay emotionally detached until it was personal and now he feels guilty. It's normal storytelling. He'll die to redeem himself or some shit.
