He was able to stay emotionally detached until it was personal and now he feels guilty. It's normal storytelling. He'll die to redeem himself or some shit.
I sure hope so, but Oda doesn't seem to be going that way with him.
We'll see eventually though.
Depends on what you mean with sympathy
”Owww sweet Kizaru I wanna give him a hug”
->not it
If you understand why he did what he did and the way he did it, then you simply appreciate his character
In OP verse Kizaru is still a fucking menace who would murder you at the speed of light without hesitation
I could be wrong, but it felt like he framed it as though it's super sad that Vegapunk died and that Kizaru doesn't deserve this type of pain, which would be fine but Kizaru aids the CDs in their activities of mass raping, kidnapping, and killing people on the daily. So why am I meant to feel any type of sadness towards him when someone he loves is killed? He never considered the feelings of the people who get tortured by the same CDs he protects.
This comment makes it sound like I hate Kizaru, but I don't. He is still a good character with a very fun and powerful ability and a nice design too, I just think Oda was weird with him on Egghead.
