General & Others Is the Final Saga flopping the reason why worstgen is dying?

#83
It flopped as soon as the Nika stuff was revealed, because we already knew what would happen, I.e. the Nika show and that everyone else would take a back seat for Nika to shine. This is because we saw how Naruto went, we saw how Bleach went, and we deluded ourselves into thinking One Piece was akin to Hunter Hunter, but instead its basically a rip off of Naruto.
Naruto >>> Mid X Mid tho.
better example is Yu Yu Hakusho

This is why characters like Sasuke are interesting characters. Realistically there's no single active character driving the plot of one piece. I'm not sure how to explain it but like for example Sasuke was always keeping fans engaged wether it was the haters or the sasuke fans, you just know that when he's on panel it's not going to be boring. Or the last Airbender it was full of adventures and the main cast always kept the fans engaging. But in one piece currently I don't know what to engage with, characters like blackbeard and akainu haven't appeared in a while and this are characters that gets things going and make noises but the straw hat are just stagnant and don't do anything.

Facts. Oda doesn’t know how to utilize his built up character roster. They end up off screened doing things.

Like it’s like he feels there NEEDS to be something major going on to justify going away from the Straw Hats.

Oh warlord system abolished? Let’s show the repercussions.
Oh Mariejois being attacked? Let’s show it as well.

Like it doesn’t cross Odas mind that he isn’t obligated to stay on the straw hats 24/7.

There really isn’t much going on that warrants long discussions in One Piece. With Wano, it wasn’t active until Onigashima started. We had never seen the Supernova go all out, we only got a taste of Yonko Commanders, never saw Kidd fight, never saw Yonko fight. We had the Tobi Rōppo and cp-0 acting and doing things, etc

We had a lot of new elements to discuss and everyone was taking sides, now it’s kind of predictable. We know how Oda treats top tiers, mid tiers, etc. we can predict pretty well what characters are worth paying attention to and who’s going to be disappointments.

When the story gets very formulaic and the plot trimmed down the cast dramatically, you’re going to get less discussion.

Mr. Reloaded

Lillymon kinda bad tho

This forum is dying because the niche is wearing off.

The manga is the biggest and the most successful it's ever been. Love it or hate it the Netflix adaptation gave it a tremendous boost in exposure, and it isn't wearing.

The real issue with this forum is that it's just unnecessarily toxic as fuck most of the time and casual reader wants to spend time here trying to have a real conversation about the manga, when the guy next to him is still going on about feats from Marineford and Dressrosa. Non powerscalers get tired of this. Quickly too. Onigashima was the perfect time for the forum, because it gave the powerscaling community everything it wanted and more. Material every single week to sling shit at fans of characters they don't like and the same was true on the other hand. But now we've shifted into a more lore centric part of the narrative where fights are an afterthought more than anything.

Why do you think casual fans want Loki to join the crew so badly despite his strength being the massive elephant in the room? They don't care about powerscaling, so why talk about it here?

To be honest I don't think he's joining even outside of his absurd strength. It's also about his size and narrative importance.
Loki isn't a Wyper or Franky type of character (yknow, that character who's a native of the island the Straw Hats visit, is pretty strong and plays a role in fighting the main villain and defeating one of their subordinates, like the Scabbards), he's more like Law. And I mean that in terms of narrative importance, both of those characters were far too important and far too independent to suddenly bend the knee to Luffy out of nowhere. Not to mention, Loki probably isn't going to leave his home after spending years of being ridiculed by the people there. Once they realize how great he is when he stops Imunko alongside Luffy, Ragnir and Brook, he's definitely going to stay there and probably be announced as their new king (maybe alongside Hajrudin).
If even Carrot and Yamato didn't join the crew, I don't see why people think someone far more important than those two is joining lol

All people talking about lore is making me confused. What lore exactly? god valley lore is basically fighting for a woman. At least we got king xebec. We still don't even know what shanks and Loki got beef over. Plus a lot of people are forgetting that the break kills momentum. After next week there's 90 percent chance of break. I don't know about toxicity of the forum since I'm new. But I really don't know what to engage with when reading one piece. What exactly am I reading. Also I think spoilers is a terrible thing because you basically don't even need to read the translation. You just need spoilers and raws and you understand 90 percent of what's going on.

The best character by far in eh was kizaru. Because we got to see his inner turmoil, he has substance to his character.
We don't know what the end game players are up to and we're in the final saga. Shanks backstory don't hit me as I expected maybe that's just me.
Koby and sword, aoikiji, teach and the bbp, shamrock and shanks, cross guild. What plans are they up to.
