Okay, even if we assume that Roger could not kill the HKs, Roger could repel them alone, so why were Rayleigh, Gaban, and Roger's entire crew able to fight the Holy Knights?

Roger can fight them alone on a island where everyone can keep they distance. on a ship things become much more difficult. all strong members have to protect the weak there. also things like ambush at nights Roger would not be able to face multiple people from multiple directions either. its not that easy all the time, what I know tho is that Roger would always be the one charging in first.

they got summoned just like the Gorosei, Joy Boy Haki canceled the summon, and Luffy/Sanji/Bonny/Franky combo attack canceled the summon, so they 100% should get send back after a strong attack.
