DR was a mistake to begin with. It would be fine in a series where the author isn't afraid to kill characters off as there would be a moral conflict for those having to fight their friends turned demons.
Now that DR characters literally get back in perfect health after being "killed", there's literally zero reason to not go all out

I recently told a person on discord: no villain is dying by the end of the story. Not Blackbeard. Not Imu. Not even BM or Kaido or dead.
Oda won't have his good guys kill anyone for real, no matter how bad that person is.
