I just want to point something out about Domi Reversi.

Remember when Brogy got his hand blown off by Imu's shotgun?

(Chapter 1150)

Well...if you look VERY closely, Brogy doesn't have a hand anymore, after getting un-Reversi'd. There's just a stump there, when we see him from above. Even though, he pretty quickly hides it behind his shield.

(Chapter 1176)

So, remember when Rocks first got Reversi'd?

(Chapter 1163)

He ALSO happened to get stabbed though the chest by Imu's "tentacles".

Imu seems to need to inflict damage in order to "infect" someone with Domi Reversi. And that damage doesn't "heal" after they get out of it.

It's not inconsistent writing. It's just VERY easy to miss.

So...Rocks likely was mortally wounded...by tentacles. It's how he would have wanted to go.
Now that's someone who goes beyond. Great catch!

He´s not fighting corrupt institutions nor opposing the WG because they´re corrupt, he´s doings so because that´s the reality of any existing power structures in the OP world. His ultimate goal is to become the King of the world, which is the most generic villain goal in fictional history. GV is the exception, because yeah, caring about family is his positive side, but his pirate career as a whole was not about a love for family nor fighting for some ¨greater good¨
Yes he does. He fight them especially because they are corrupt and because of the promise his family ancestor made. Rocks didn't simply want to rule the world, he wanted to bring chaos to the current institution by destroying it.

Rocks was highly aware of the system and his idea of chaos was closer to what the Revolutionnaries are currently doing than what Blackbeard is actually trying to do.

That's actually quite fun, since BlackBeard seems to have taken only the "chaos" part of the message of his father and left the empathetic quest aside. (I say "seems" because we don't fully understand his goal just yet)

Devilbat

Just chill and let chill
I'll give you some of them in private if you want. I absolutely do not want to fuel the hatred of this thread or forum.
Sure, my DM is open. I don't want to use it for trolling and bashing you, I am genuinely interested because you seem to be too optimistic about OP storytelling sometimes.

Well this doesn´t really specify what he wanted to be the King of. Wanting to be a King of your own country for example isn´t really presented as immoral, but wanting to dominate the world is.
Davy Jones being the king of the most technologically advanced and powerful kingdom is arguably what lended him the title “King of the World”. I don’t think it takes too many leaps in logic say this is what Emeth is referring to in this context.

Wumble.

Why do you say he´s a terrible matchup though?
Orochimaru's a slippery bastard and has an extremely versatile skill set.

I don't think Kisame has a chance of keeping him in a water dome, nor do I think he will have much success trying to steal his chakra.

Even if Orochimaru can't use his Eight Branches jutsu, he's got all kinds of fuckery and poisons up his sleeve.

I think Kisame is just outmatched by the Sannin in general, and perhaps most by Orochimaru.

Xebec stated that Imu piercing him with those tentacles didn’t hurt…

A lot of men say "it didn't hurt" then you learn they died less than 24 hours later, because of liver failure or concussion.

Ok I will send you a pm soon

Fair enough, I would just say we don´t really have the context about Joyboy in general, nor the ancient history in general and I´m not that interested in speculation about it, all I´ll say is that it´s a normal arc theme that the royalty of the country wants to return to power after being outed by a pirate or something, so is that what happened here? And if it isn´t, we could have a legitimate question on if Joyboy was also vaguely evil. Dominating the world isn´t really a goal we see from any ¨good coded¨ characters in the manga.

This just isn´t true lol? In Rocks´s most important monologue, he talks about his dreams of ruling the world, not bringing justice to the tennrybuto or anything

(Btw, this is essentially the same monologue that Teach gives to Ace)

Why lol? Blackbeard is essentially following Rocks´s blueprint. He wants to rule the world, he took over pirate island, he got one of the devil fruits he was after. The revolutionaries are not after this. You don´t think Teach knows about the system and government corruption, when he saw them genocide his whole island when he was like 2?

I can agree that Loki is a good coded character who kind of follows Rocks´s will, but probably less so than Teach.

Vegapunk said it wasn’t clear who was right or wrong in the war between Joyboy and the Ancient Kingdom versus the Twenty Monarchs/Kingdoms.

I don't take Emet's words as indication Joyboy wanted to become King of the World, or that Joyboy wanted to be king of anything at all.

We need more context.

Luffy wants to become the Pirate King, but we know he explicitly doesn't want to rule over others. Pirate King to Luffy means being the freest man in the world.

As the first pirate in history, perhaps Joyboy wanted something similar.

Interesting how Xebec say that step 1 will be crushing the Navy. Maybe the Japanese theorists were right and Papalino will get crushed by BB at New MF

I buy it. I´m sure Oda will definitely use it to highlight Sakazuki´s character as well, with his last interaction with his best friend being negative and criticizing him, done by the man he failed to kill (Blackbeard) and the man he showed mercy too(Kuzan). I´m sure the Gorosei will give him shit about it as well.

He definitely did even more than only apply the chaos part, BB has slaves, which is something that Rocks was fighting against.

Who says it's their peak when Roger is just a lol diff opponent in front of god tiers?

Ancient weapons are clearly stated to destroy the World and we've seen Mother Flame causing world-wide destruction.

Idk about OP surpassing Naruto god tiers because that's when all the planetary alien shit starts but it's definitely enough to surpass a brainless incomplete Juubi which can only spam bijuu damas and nothing else. It fired these bijuu bombs several times and it never caused the same kind of destruction like Mother Flame:
I doubt DR Xebec is a lol diff opponent for God Tiers though. He did a solo sky split, which Joyboy´s strongest Haki also did. The fact that it took him and 2 others to completely sink an island makes it clear the average top tier can´t actually do that

The mother flame isn´t really comparable here lol. OP has more advanced tech, the ancient weapons are their equivalent of like a nuke lol. The ten tails is just raw chakars
