Also I can't quite put my finger on it but I have a jard time trusting Jan so far. There is a sense I'm getting where they feel "held back", like they're being really careful with what they say and how they say it in a way that feels positional.
Strange that you say that, because I had that feeling as well. I wasn't able to verbalise it adequately in my own mind, but this does encapsulate my feelings quite well.
I just wanted to expand on this thought while it's still active in my mind. The word "positional" that Ratchet uses with regards to Jan's play resonates specifically with me in this post:
Here we are.
Ratchet is not the most agreed with read after his drop off, why is he town to you exactly?
(I had him as town early, but I am curious about your take)
What baout york did you like? she has way less activity and without meta knowledge, is an odd pick for a townread.
What I felt here is that Jan was trying to present that idea that I have more information that I should. In particular, drawing attention to the fact that I have a town read on York "without meta knowledge" feels like an attempt to imply that I do have TMI on York's alignment, and that nobody *without* meta knowledge of York could possibly reach that conclusion on their own.
With regards to the Ratchet read, in hindsight it also feels odd for Jan to call out the "drop off" in activity. I am not somebody who believes very much in "activity reads", and it feels as if Jan is attempting to influence my thoughts in drawing attention to this drop-off and pointing out that many players are disagreeing with my take on Ratchet here.
I just wanted to get this off my chest, and point out why I think Ratchet's "positional" statement hit a strong note with me.
(Also if Jan is scum, you can *probably* clear both York and Ratchet off this right away)
