Ah yes, I saw this on my phone.

I find Goblin's anti-tamper on Flower to be sensible. Flower had already asked if he could be safely visited, so it was apparent that she was thinking of doing something to him. For all anyone knew, that could have been an alignment-cop check.

Now imagine, you're town-Goblin and you know someone has publically stated they're going to visit you. You can use your ability to prevent that player being redirected onto a scum and giving a false red read.

Do you do it?

I certainly would.

On your second point, and about his lack of suspects... I recall you and I had a conversation a short while ago about "appeasement behaviour" and how York seemed to be doing this to the people (Michelle, Cal) who suspected her.

What difference do you see in York doing "appeasement behaviour" towards the people sussing her, and scum-Goblin doing "appeasement behaviour" by being afraid to call out too many players as scum?

I actually mentioned it an hour ago when talking about it :D

Basically, I stand with what I said before: scum avoids having too many enemies. But Pot Goblin is not evening suspecting anyone at this point.

I think Goblin Pot takes it too much into extreme. Like, in the end you have to push someone for the game, you have to throw out, even one or two names, to have something to do. Goblin doesn't even have that. Every other player does. York at least had me to badger about, voted Shuijing, voted Cal (without any elaboration ofc.). Goblin had Reloaded, but he kinda is totally non commital for that. I feel like as scum he'd have AT LEAST some urge to have one name??? Not totally shirk? Internal obligation?

Although with that town lean on Goblin now I have personally too many people I'm throwing leantowns on now to have a PoE wide enough that would supplement a scumteam. Seems like *lean* town shouldn't cut it anymore and I should just call them nulls.

Because right now my direct scumreads are Orca and Ratchet and I don't have much else. And also Juliet, but that's, like, a passed out slot anyway. And I don't really think Ratchet is with Juliet.

Would have to gather what I townlean/nulltown people for:

Goblin:
- lack of suspects

York:
- claiming RPS kill

Jan:
- good d2 post about not knowing what to do

Hayumi:
- scummeta drift (less asslicking)

Shujing/Poyser:
- because I... I don't think that scumteam was making movement when we had Cryo and Shuji were wagoned? funnily enough, I feel quite o Kay with this?

Relo:
- indifferent feel of the d1 thread by EOD plus Rej jumping on his wagon as it was forming

Tepig:
- unusual play for scum by going at Flower
- straightforward way of thinking by going for Luka's reads

RippedCal:
- solvier than scumgame, plus had some unusual plays for scum to do (Yorkdancing, good luck explanation for not throwing Charlie to a lim, weird post to Jan about his role)


I guess also overall I'd expect that, by now, Jan would be my v. solid town read, and he's somehow not. His play is logical, well thought out, he's a smart guy and I can totally see how he could kill Marimo for credit.

What I think I lack in Jan is going/commiting to bolder pushes... Like, d1 last game he started a CFD on Raylle. He wasn't afraid to speak up more I think. I don't really know how to exactly put this, but I'm missing some... extracurricular stuff from him? Like, doing these little, stupid things that a townperson usually does, diving into weird theories or unnecessary engagements.

If this happens, you need to remember that mafia do stuff to look townie

and u gotta start tiering who u feel has the strongest reasons for being town. For example, yes it’s weird for Tepig to go after Flower but that isn’t enough to clear him at this point. For Marimo it was different cuz he didn’t give us much to go off of, but tbh at this point if someone is town AND they have a lot of content, there should be enough strong reasons littered in their ISO to call them town by now

Probably GTH town but not as confident as some other reads. Her scum range has massively improved and she’s fooled me before while being hyperactive.

She was null on Rej and refrained from giving an opinion there initially until Luka lead the wagon IIRC. Not damning by any means but I’d say alignment wise not clearing.

Polar's reaction to me last night was a big tell tbh.
A weird overreaction that came from honest annoyance, similar to how he got annoyed last game.

If there is a vote at the end, there is a big reason for extra content.
If you can sleep, you can relax and ignore the game for a moment.

Nightchat without voting is just more dayphase. The game is not fast enough to need that.

From my experience, scum can clear scum, true. But not in such a way, that he dived into his past games, quoted the quotes, is arguing actively with others about that read when that scum isn't really in big trouble.

Its usage and timing. Do you expect a vig to holster all game, what about a roleblock, or a duel?

If the target does not use any active ability, then nothing happens to them.
