But the Giants were only Kashi and Giant that came back on this one. Not the Giants on the village which at first doesn't make sense if they surprised since they already knew how to deal it the other way.

I could see why they surprised since Chopper didn't killed them but Early spoiler seems to make us believe that Chopper is on the giant village and killing them which is now we know its not true.

It make sense if Chopper and co aren't nearing the village Giants, and then they don't know how to deal with it since Jarul probably forgot to use his megaphone to inform everybody or if they knew they aren't capable since Kashi and Gyaban injured. And then Chopper did the slapped thing where he somehow someway able to negate DR which makes Kashi, Gyaban and the Giants around them confused.
