1 round vs 2 round doesn´t actually matter, OP powers have never been hard fantasy or whatever. What´s relevant is that his stamina is used up by g5
notably, on a reread, he didn´t actually do much in the first round, the fight didn´t get intense yet

You just admitted to Oda making Luffy arbitrarily hold back for plot reasons. We know for a fact that Luffy can force a 2nd round of G5, but he just didn’t do that on Egghead for plot reasons (Oda wanting Kuma to be the one to save Bonney). This cope makes no sense, just accept that this is yet another case of PIS in this manga which has like 5 cases of PIS every chapter.
