Yea he was coping about the timelimit for the longest time when Luffy himself stated he wasn't at his G5 limit in Wano. Not to mention Sanji was frozen and Bonney was about to die when Luffy was lying on the ground, so if he could restart his heart he would do it in a heartbeat (bars).

Wano G5 lasted an odd few seconds before Luffy got kicked out of it. He never took the form to its full timer.

The argument that Luffy was being constantly screwed over by plot was always a bit much, but I don´t think it would make sense to anyone but actual schizos that Imu is being protected by plot after we saw him neg diff Rocks, but maybe some Yonko fans will hold on, and argue Kaido> Imu?
