Sky splits are just fanservice exclusive to Great Pirate captains (Yamato wasn’t even a pirate), and at best they’re meant to reflect that the two characters are similar in power at their max strength. It doesn’t literally mean Base Luffy = Hybrid Kaido, come on now. It wouldn’t even make sense for Fruitless Luffy to be above Fruitless Kaido since Kaido’s base strength massively gaps Luffy’s

CoC growing as you grow doesn’t mean two characters with equal CoC are equally strong

Usually that actually is what it entails though. That's why most characters who sky split are equals, like Roger and Whitebeard or Kaido and Big Mom.

Oldbeard could still do this even half dead. His strength would come and go, but he still had a crazy peak when he gave it his all.

@TheAncientCenturion I've always had this headcanon that Cell's regen is better than Piccolo's because Frieza's genes let him survive otherwise extremely fatal injuries (Frieza survived Namek with like a third of his body remaining, and Frieza was somehow alive as just an eyeball when he got revived). Thoughts?
