I, for ex, never make the assumption that I'm completely immune to the impact of my biases or reactionnary ideas or conspirationism. That would be highly unwise and dangerous. This is why I keep telling you to reflect on your positionning. Because you might think you are not delusionnal, but from my point of view, who walked the path to fight the ideas you are defending in my own mind, I see you guyz as delusionnal, or rather, depoliticized.
obviously you are the only individual here that self reflects, riiight.

Did you journey the world
Did you find yourself
Did you fall in love

Did you do anything in your life other than argue in online forums
Not yet

humans have been on the moon and have circled around the moon before though?
Of course, dozens of times, but it was a long time ago. The fact of living this era again is very cool

Ironically. Yes.

sure I m unironically laughing at myself for having no self-reflection :Egg_Peak:
To be fair, I have seen Solis and Okamakama do a fair share of self reflecting and I believe my fellow leftists had to reflect on their own biases to understand what they currently do..

The rest? I have seen absolutely 0 political or ethical evolution. I'm still seeing the same argument from some that they were giving to me 3 years ago.

@Mathias my point is that as a result of the Trauma of the Vietnam war

A lot of Americans developed the idea that Sanctions and Drones and other "indirect" ways to hurt other countries are "more moral" , even though the results are actually more brutal, with Bill Clinton killing more Iraqi Civilians than Either the two Bushes for example (and the whole Sudanese Pharmacy factory thing)

Had Clinton just Invaded Iraq when Saddam started violating treaties instead of this Pacifist passive aggressive shit it actually might have had a far better result than kicking the can down the line

This "Pacifist" Culture where Ground Invasions are the Ultimate Evil and worse for civilians is pretty much just cowardly out of sight out of mind stuff rather than an actual concern for Civilians , it's more based on feels rather than facts

Same for people who feel more comfortable starving Russians with Sanctions than to actually send NATO troops against them(many of them even blame Zelensky for the war btw)
I had already understood what you meant I think.

Economic sanction is already war. And there are lots of steps thereafter.

Also we can see something quite precisely with the war in Ukraine. NATO and the US are engaging in it by unlocking higher and higher tech weapons by steps.
It's "should we give them this missile ? this tank ? this jet-fighter ? this anti-air missiles ?" and so on... and they take time to provide these weapons but that's specific to a war against Russia.
"Is it more moral if we don't give Ukrainians this and that weapons before this and that schedule ?

I agree but

Lots of "White Liberal Boy" types will tell you that Bush was a war criminal for the War but Clinton isn't for the more Deadly Sanctions

Which is my point, posturing, much like "anti hunting" people who don't actually give a shit about animals, just hate the "bad vibes" they get from Hunters so they see it as immoral

These people are why Obama decided to just Drone Weddings instead of wasting ground troops, he knew very well most of them didn't care about civilians, they just hated the "bad vibes" of American Soldiers killing people

Tbh Europe messed up Ukraine so bad that I don't blame Zelensky for sucking up to Bibi instead of relying on Europeans and their weird ass foreign policies that's the Epitome of beat around the edges

I am not disputing what international law says. Its just a question of whether Iran will go back to abiding by this law or not.

This war escalated a lot already. Strikes happened on petrochemicals, energy stations, bridges, datacenters...etc. I doubt things will go back to how they were pre-war.

No such thing as holding back lol, this is not an anime fight. Trump won't let his allies take losses in the billions due to holding back.
The USA simply cannot launch operations like the 2003 invasion of Iraq as it has its military spread across the globe. Some would say it already cannibalized too much of its strength in other theaters like Europe or the Pacific to fight Iran. Trump is already pushing the limits with sending a third carrier to CENTCOM.

Most of our stealth cruise missiles are going to the Middle East:

THAAD Air Defenses pulled away from South Korea:
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...iles-thaad-south-korea-middle-east-seoul-iran

850 Tomahawks fired in the first four weeks, global stockpile is around 3000-4000. Japan recently was told that its order of tomahawks will be delayed for 2 years.

The USA is not holding back. However, Trump cannot launch mobilization like the Iraq war today, as he takes away from US military deterrence across the globe in Europe and East Asia.
US is indeed holding back. It's strategic restraint from US.

We haven't seen full scale mobilization from US - air, naval and ground.

US has hit 11000 targets in one month and this was all due to precision deep strikes from a very limited mobilization.

Yes they want their forces across the globe but my point is US has mobilised around 25% of their actual capacity and it's restrainting itself from escalating war.

Also, you guys hype up the Gulf states when they aren't a good addition to the war at all. They've been bluffing about joining but they cannot do anything that Israel and America aren't doing 100x times better already.

Its like asking Chopper to help Luffy and Zoro fight Kaido.
Iran is no Kaido though. Iran Defenses capabilities have taken a massive toll in last one month.

With Gulf, it's not about deep striking capabilities - they don't have it but it would put Iran under more fire than what it faced.

A month ago, Gulf perhaps was like Chopper but right now, it's more like Garlic who can land significant blows to already injured Iran.

As I said earlier, Iran has a leverage - Hormuz. They should use it to gain some points in negotiations but not to bite more than they can chew.
