It was coming, we raised funded and started having football academies, etc around 10 years ago and this was the result.
Is it just that... or does Morocco thrive from being able to recruit players who grew up in Spain/France and developed their abilities as players there (especially the Paris region) because they are ethnically Moroccan & it's the easier choice since they aren't probably gonna break into Spain/France NT, which are highly competitive?

Even Hakim Ziyech grew up in Paris iirc & Brahim Diaz is a City/Real Madrid product.

Fujishiro

Cheese for everyone!

Thats part of the strategy yes, they choose to recruit players that player in EU Clubs yeah. Its a combo of both though, the team that won the under 20 WC isnt really like that.

Not saying there's anything wrong in that btw. Just pointing it out.
Aymeric Laporte, f.ex, is ethnically Basque, but born in France.
He chose to play for the Spanish NT instead of the French NT.

Jerome & Kevin-Prince Boateng are half-brothers born in Berlin.
Jerome played for the German NT & KP played for Ghana NT, the country of his father.
It's a lot more common than what most ppl realize tbf.
