Zoro used a mode he said will kill him if he uses it for too long, because it pulls out an excess amount of his Haki and Imu keeps blocking it with his tail before slapping him like a puppy. Lol.

The puppy treated the "final villain" with some rice balls, a well-known opener that never done anything except one-shotting Killer.
At least he used KOH so at least we can say Imu is not incompetent but King would have blocked it with his face so there is nothing impressive here, blocking-wise, especially if Imu has Lunarian genes or similar abilities.
If I were to praise anything it would be landing a clean hit on Zoro but that by itself means his attack did nothing to Zoro.

Oda actually gave us an out because, as far as we know, Zoro should be able to cut the flames.

In this clash, Zoro didn't expect the attack. Next round, he's cutting them.
