Rant: why give claymore a live action?

Apparently the guys at CBS studios announced that they were going to make a love action of claymore of all series

I don't like Claymore

But also genuinely who asked for this? Like who?

Claynore is an obscure manga with practically no one remembering it

It's not hard to see why cause the charachters are boring and the art is boring too

Which guy at CBS honestly suggested this and who greenlight the idea?

If the adaptation is decent the series will most likely not make a large profit because claynore is an obscure manga as it is

Like legit if I was one of the executives and someone presented the idea of giving Claymore a live action I would refuse immediately and instead opt to give to an actual popular series that might actually make them money if it succeeds

Claymore is a good manga. The art is amazing. Characters are well written as hell. But live action is too much. I'd rather a full animated series of it instead of that shitty ending that has 0 connection with manga.

Manga ending was great but it could have continued.

To be fair, successfully adapting a more moderately known manga like Claymore could result in a sleeper hit. It's a Western medieval fantasy setting where most of the characters are pretty easy to successfully portray design wise.

Heavy CGI and special effects won't be needed until later seasons where the bigger monsters come into play. I can personally see this being much easier to successfully adapt than something with crazy arse designs that is also less well known like Trigun.

So yeah, Claymore is actually a decent choice of manga to adapt.

It's actually a pretty good pick, it's a dark fantasy based on medieval Europe, so it appeals to western sensibilities, and we know there's a market for it, based on how popular the game of thrones spinoffs and the first season of the Witcher were.

And it's not as graphic/NSFW as other popular manga in its sphere like Berserk, so it's easier to adapt it faithfully to TV.

claymore is one of the most underrated mangas to exist.

until fire force it was in the same realm as soul eater but that just got a boost in popularity.

additionally claymore has been requested by fans for years for an anime remake as the only reason for it not being popularized is due to rushing the anime befre there was enough source material to follow.

Claymore is underrated. Not a great manga but not a bad one. And probably one of the better manga to get a live action as well, unlike One Piss who’s live action should have been killed with fire
