Seriously,it could tell us a lot and these summaries might not be descriptive at all. For one, Carrot has been with Nami this whole time, and Yamato is still in front of BM with Luffy, so im curious as to who Oda draws here

Yeah Oda sneakily not showing Onigashima during Oden's flashback gives credence that there's definitely more to it.I think the constant emphasis on weird sea currents/whirlpools in & around the periphery of Wano will lead into something bigger, probably relating to the giant carrying Wano in the past and it's impact creating such conditions.
Opening Wano seems more of a literal thing than a metaphorical one and this might have something to do with it.
