If plot and Oda can determine how strong a character looks in comparison to another on a whim doesn't that quite literally undermine the feats argument being used to place Loki above all top tiers that have ever existed bar Imu and the god tiers?
Sure Luffy in G5 is only limited by his imagination but that doesn't then now make him unbeatable surely? On the contrary we've seen that this isn't necesarily the case in his fights against Kaido and Kiz.
Also it's kinda interesting that you're now entertaning the possibility of Luffy being stronger than Loki coz I'm certain your were on the other side of that argument.
To me it kinda feels like you're conviniently using the potential of G5 as a get out of jail card when it's obvious that Oda is simply not consistent with power levels.
Just to be clear I've always been of the notion that narrative trumps all, pointing out that Luffy till now has always been potrayed to be above Loki with folks going on about feats this feats that but now feats don't matter coz plot can make Luffy how strong he wants?

There is a difference because there is no hard limit on gear 5, unlike other characters. This is literally the form that will eventually go toe-to-toe with Joyboy. Kaido and Kizaru just fought the version with locked features. Luffy realizes something about his power while fighting Imu? Inconsistency vanishes
