Good catch~! What really stands out to me in this panel is the fact that is is shaded black even though the panel is colored 
Maki in general very interesting. Sheer utility of it is insane (which i will come back to in a bit) and it could also be a very interesting direction Oda can go with Sanji's conqueror's Haki. There some folks in the Japanese fanbase already theorizing that in additon to 覇王色 (Haoshoku/Sovereign), what Imu could potentially be showing us is 魔王色 (Demonic Sovereign) which is a pretty interesting take considering that everytime character's feel Imu's haki it's akways described as malicious. For example, we've experienced both Joyboy and Imu's haki and even though range wise they are the same, charcteristically they feel fundamentally different.
On the utility bit, though it actually makes my Sanji demonic transformation theory very feasible bcoz rather than Oda going the route of PoL giving Sanji the ability to transform or even going down the route of ancient demon race genes giving him the ability to transform, he can just simply utillize Maki to form wings, or even horns without it being an outright pyhsical transformation
I initially theorized that Sanji will prolly awaken Conqueror's Haki on his next Jambe power up giving the pattern Oda seems to be going with:
悪魔/Akuma/Demon (Diable) ⇨魔神/Majin/High Class Demon (Ifrit) ⇨魔王/Demon King (????)
One trait of Maki that Sanji prolly won't have if Oda does go that route is the animated effect Imu's flames seems to have akin to Big Mom's Homies. Reckon it's a direct result of his awakening rather than it being a charateristic trait of Maki itself.

As you already pointed out, everyone is pointing out Imus' haki/maki as "demonic". As it is designated to the "evil" side so far. Would give such a thing to the good guys, you know what i mean? Or did I misunderstand you?
Regarding Flames, yeah I don't think oda would give him full-on Black mom level homie Flames, but i think he could be given more controllable flames, like free-forming his flames or using it in smart matters like jet booster for example, even to be faster

Oda is such a fucking hack @EmperorKinyagi. Kizaru got the perfect fruit for visually cool fights and yet...

When nerfed pre-timeskip Kizaru look strogner then more nerfed Eggland Kizaru but still make Luffy frighten when sense hakiless Kizaru.
Had this discussion with @Doggo and my take on it personally is that it utlimately comes down to how Oda conceptualizes it.
In other words, is Maki "Evil Haki" or is it simply "Demonic Haki" coz I think there is a fundamentally difference between the two. If it is just "Demonic Haki" in others words Haki utilized by "demons", then it wouldn't really be at odds with Sanji as a character or the fact that he's on the good side coz like we've both estabalished Sanji has a strong demonic theme about him (i.e. Sanji is able to tap into demonic abilities hence why he's able to use it). Also I think it's interesting to note that anytime Sanji has had this gag quazi demonic transformations, it's always been when he feels strong jealousy/malice towards somebody lol.
So yh long as Oda doesn't conceptuaize it as "Evil" then it should be fine. My only issue with Maki as a ting though is the fact that Sanji can weild the Power of Love which feels a bit at odds with the Maki concept.

Not really aware of any theories like that about Sanji in the JP space but I do think that if Sanji is able to utilize Maki in some capacity it will have ties to his genetic modifications either that or some sort of ancestary about the Vinsmokes that we don't know about yet.
The base of devil fruits abilities at the end of the day is lineage factor manipulation only difference is that Sanji and his siblings have had their lineage factor directly modified without going the route of. a DF and as such not really confined to the constraints imposed by them.

Wings got packed up this chapter with Loki glaze though not gonna lie
but again like I said last chapter Loki right now is setting the standard for the M3 atm (Luffy included) so I expect some filthy powerups for Zoro and Sanji in particular before this arc ends. If folks really believe that Loki has shattered the roof of what we knew as top tier prior to his introduction, best believe that Zoro and Sanji are going to be moving mad too. Power creep is going to be insane.

The more we see of Imu, the more the Nika awakening makes sense. There’s no way this ends as a typical shonen “final boss” fight where the MC just pulls out a serious power-up out of his ass. Imu’s way too broken that Luffy straight up Looney Tunesing around and turning him into a meme, is more believable than anyone beating him in a conventional fight lol
