Warlords are why this manga is so long. They added so much color & depth to the story and unfortunately, the Yonko saga villains look like jokes in comparision.

Don't think its nostalgia necessarily, like croco and buggy dynamic is what carries those CG interactions, even when he come "rescue" him in the flashback

Nostalgia would be like if Mihawk or Arlong were huge. Crocodile is just odas most successful male warlord. The fact that his popularity can rival the power of simps wanting to be stepped on by boa is insane.
