He never tried, he personally went here to kill Loki and Luffy. If Domi Reversi can’t work then they’re most likely incorruptible in the first place, and Imu would know this. He’s literally saying that he’s gonna kill them lol

I think it's just a case of characters not going all out right off the bat (common in shonen) and Loki being strong enough that outside Marijoa Imu can't just swat him aside without truly going for it.

Like this likely means he still held the hope he could flip him until this chapter where he gives up and says since he won’t he will just kill him like Luffy @park_min young that’s what makes sense to me? Because why say it this chapter and not right when they meet? Did you forget what Gunko possessed Imu said? “Submit” or “Die”. He tried the submit route and now he will just attempt to kill him since clearly Loki is set in his ways.

Technically, Zoro was nerfed A LOT in pre ts.
When he fought against Arlong, he was massively nerfed. Post Thriller Bark Zoro was also very nerfed due to his injuries + Luffy's pain.

Zoro was nerfed all the time skip because of his scar that needed two years to heal.

Any new injury he got in that time, it's just making his state far more worse.
