Worst timing of a flashback in the history of storytelling, you can’t cut away from Final Villain vs Loki just for this slop.

It's the job of editors to advice authors on the timing of stuff like this and whether to cut away from an exciting moment etc

Alas, this is what happens when all you got are yes-men editors

Have the flashback be in the middle of Loki and Imu's fight, but before Zoro and Sanji's fight against Sommers and Killingham

Or have the flashback be in the middle of all the fights including Zoro and Sanji's fight.

If Oda went with the latter, that would have been way more annoying.

It is best to get rid of this flashback now, so that way we will have no interruptions during Zoro and Sanji's fight against the Holy Knights.

But like, there was literally THE perfect opportunity to get this out of the way earlier in the arc...
When Brook fucking attacked Gunko and she recognized him and broke out of imu's control
Oda had no reason to sit on this flashback just to insert it right in the middle of an interesting fight

Unless you are living under a rock or just have really bad memory, Oda just loves to purposely drag out the climax of these arcs, doesn't matter if it's Elbaf, Egghead, Wano, or WCI.

Eh, they’re not really going all out yet. Loki still hasn’t pulled out his hybrid.

Also it’s very likely that Imu is a central figure in this flashback, given his relationship to Gunko.
