What's interesting about this flashback is we have very little information about what was occurring around the world during this period.

Charlotte Linlin was dropped off at Elbaph by her birth parents to never return.[77] She gets taken care of by Mother Carmel.[78]
Shortly after Loki's birth, his mother Queen Estrid throws him into Elbaph's underworld yet he crawls himself out,[79] Loki seemingly kills the royal family's lucky horse afterward.[80]
On the seventh day of fasting, five days before the Winter Solstice Festival, Linlin destroys a village on Elbaph over a craving of semla,[81] killing Jorul in the process.[82] The Sheep's House leaves Elbaph.[83]
February 15th[84]: Sometime after the Sheep's House celebrates Linlin's "sixth birthday", Linlin was left alone.[85] Elbaph became so repugnant of Linlin that they refrain from saying her name.[86]
Streusen joins with Linlin to create a "dream country" on the island at the center they were in which eventually came to be Whole Cake Island and the rest of the surrounding islands, to be named Totto Land.[87]

Characters that could be important in Brook's flashback:

1. Big Mom. Whether it's their age, their soul base powers their love of music, Brook and Linlin are tied together like strings on an instrument.

Linlin's Elbaph and Carmel I ate the Kids flashback occurred sixty three years ago, when Brook and Shuri were 27 and 14 respectively. Shuri is older than Big Mom. Ain't that something.

Big Mom was recruited by Mother Carmel, a WG Agent masquerading as a religious woman running an orphanage. While we could see more of Linlin's early life, I think it's more likely we get more of...

2. Mother Carmel. I believe that Shuri was sought after by the celestial dragons because of her eyes. Mihawk, Sanji, Zoro, Pudding, Viola, Imu. This is a series where eye designs have serious meaning. Shuri's heterochromia is connected to some ancient tribe and their lineage factor.

Like Linlin, Shuri was targetted for her potential to be raised and molded by the world government as a soldier.

Since Carmel was active during this period, this is the year big mom ate her, and since this flashback also involves a female character brook knows, I think we'll see Carmel in this flashback in some capacity.

Also, Candel and Carmel are very similar names. It's entirely possible they have some connection. And Carmel should also know of...

3. Loki. Loki was born this year and tossed into the underworld by his mother. There's a good chance we're going to again at least some more of loki's early life lore here.

I want to see if Carmel interracted with Estrid. If Carmel craved loki as a potential recruit for the world government, it would make sense that she would try to poison Estrid against her own son, so that Carmel could steal him.

However, Linlin forced Carmel to abandon her plans to recruit loki for the world government and kidnap him, because Linlin had to leave the country. Carmel did however alert the world government to Loki's potential. This is likely one of the reasons the god knights sought to recruit him. Speaking of people that live high up...

4. Haredas and the Wizards of Weatherly Place

Weatheria is the floating sky island that Nami met a bunch of sugar daddys on during the time, skip. I mean, met a bunch of cool wizard dudes.

Haredas and Weatheria were formed over a teo year period 67-66 years ago. So, Weatheria was created in the middle of brooks flashback.

Because of this, I could see them definitely showing up here in some capacity.

5. Harald. Harald was in fishman island and wano seventy years ago.

Harald obviously knew Carmel, and i'm interested to see that meeting.

Harald might have met Haredas in Weatheria.

But, did Harald know Esperia, and Candel?

63 years ago is also when Harald returned to Elbaph with food he received from nations he had allied with.

I'm willing to bet that one of these nations was Esperia, and that Harald and Candel were friends.

We should see Harald soon, as well.
Doing talk to text and also going balls deep is a crazy middle ground

CoC: Color of Clowns

Civil Disobedience >>> Obese Criminal Obedience
I dont know where Oda is going with this one. :sanmoji:
63 years ago, during this flashback currently, Linlin was in Elbaph being recruited by Mother Carmel to be kidnapped by the world government and be turned into a soldier.

Brook has big lore with Big Mom.

Shuri also happens to be kidnapped and turned into a WG soldier.

Candel is introduced with Mihawk's SFX, when Mihawk has been heavily hinted as to being a former celestial dragon.

If this chapter goes into Shuri's life in Marijoa, which I believe it will, and Mihawk was indeed a Celestial Dragon, i believe we'll see Mihawk in Marijoa.

Possible Candel or Shuri are his mother.

Mihawk is 43. Candel is unknown but obviously old enough, and Shuri would have been 34 years old when he was born if she is Mihawk's mother.

Considering Mihawk's epithet as son of the devil, and Imu's freaky obsession with blue haired princesses, I've got the sinking feeling that Shuri is Mihawk's Mom and Imu's the Dad.

This could lead us into something we've never really seen before.

Furious Brook.

Shuri also has strange eyes like Mihawk.

I’m sweating from everywhere so hard because of the impossible heat of the current weather that I might as well have dropped some tears. Better flashback than Goofy, Ace and Sabo. This is really good and I’d rather have this than : push the birdcage and run to the rooftop.

That said : The problem is the relationship with Gunko. I thought Oda had learned after Momonosuke with Nami and Robin but he chose to keep this cringe ass Lolita stuff with this flashback. After all we had Bonney in the meantime too…

Japan is finito. One Piece should be rewritten with a team of editors who understand life better.
We will eventually realise, one piece is just watsuki files

On the cover page, Brook gets electrified by some jellyfish. He's been electrified so hard, you can see his BONES! The jellyfish happen to have ringed eyes just like Imu. Hmm....not sure what that's hinting at. Brook seems to be enjoying himself, frankly. So...maybe Brook will end up getting Reversi'd by Imu by the end of the arc? I've actually talked a little about how Imu could have some connection with jellyfish before. So, maybe I wasn't too off base with that? Or maybe this is hinting that Enel is coming back by the end of this arc? Who knows?!

We're flashing forward to when Shuri is 14. So this would be 63 years ago. And five princes want to woo her, but she insists they have to defeat her in battle first. How very Red Sonja or Greek Myth inspired of her. Even though her design here is giving me more Revolutionary Girl Utena vibes. Shuri doesn't have a runny nose anymore, so I guess that wasn't the reason she's hiding her face, now. Also, she's so smol compared to Brook, about half his height.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atalanta

And Brook is already asking to see women's panties. So...I guess there might not be some tragic backstory about why he does that? He's just a perv! And I'm okay with that! Sometimes a perv's just gotta perv! And while she's still wearing a skirt here, I guess we COULD say the reason why Gunko isn't wearing pants is to subconsciously attract Brook.

So, we're flashing back even FURTHER! When Brook was 11, so this would be 79 years ago. And Brook's a homeless street rat wishing he could go to music school while living in the junkyard. Even the junkyard dogs don't seem to like him. Also...Brook apparently had a little brother who starved to death. Huh. Tragic, but kind of interesting information. Also, he already has his trademark YOHOHOHO laugh.

And I'll also point out...lil' Brook seemed to look even MORE like lil' Blackbeard circa God Valley. I've seen it pointed out that Brook has a similar afro, and 3 eyelashes under his eyes as lil' Blackbeard did before. So, it's possible that Oda is hinting that Brook is actually a secret member of the Davy Clan, or has some other connection to Blackbeard. We'll see. Maybe it's just Oda reusing designs. But, there could be some deeper connection here to keep in mind.

This was before the King (currently the Prince) was married. And he's being set up with a valedictorian of the Enoah Academy from the Suffron Conglomerate. I'm not sure if any of this will come up again, but it's possible that Oda's planting the seeds for something. Or maybe it's simply to show that the King is sick of his fancy-smancy lifestyle.

Lil' Brook gets captured and tortured by some Marines who are looking for some special "powder" that got stolen. Either this is cocaine or some other narcotic like it seems to be implied to be....but could it actually be Dance Powder? It's possible that Brook's homeland of Esperia could be the country where Dance Powder was first invented, I guess. I'm interested to see how the official translation handles this. But, either way, it was the Mouron Family who was behind the powder-smuggling operation.

Leuven is still the prince right now. So, I guess it's Leuven's FATHER who was the corrupt one who let this country get so bad.

"I'm nothing more than your Devoted Steel Blade" Hmm...more curious wording about Candelle. That's VERY similar to Gunko being Imu's Devoted Blade of God. Oda sure seems to be hinting that there's some deeper connection between the Gods Knights and Candelle or this country as a whole.

So, Brook isn't biologically related to the King. But, he was basically adopted by him. Which means...Brook and Shuri were basically raised together. Hmm...still a little iffy, but oh well.

And...there's a break next week. Oh well. We still seem to have a few more chapters of this flashback at least. So, I wonder who else will end up making a cameo? Outside of most of the Giants, I guess we could see Doctor Kureha from Drum Island or even Haredas from Weatheria. Or Clou D Clover from Ohara. Or even Streuson from Whole Cake. There really aren't a lot of people we know about from around this time period, so maybe we will just keep it to mostly gangsters?

This chapter was trash. Who the fuck cares about this backstory at this point? You go over 1180 chapters wasting time on fodder and side characters and now when shit is getting cool again in the manga you want to go back and focus on the Straw Hats you've neglected since the time skip? Lets get back to Loki vs Imu please. Its too late in the game for a Brook backstory in an arc that was 60% flashback heavy already. Oda's pacing is the worst I've ever seen.
