We all are. Trust me, if I feel the pressure to hate when someone like me is already doing everything to be positive about the story, someone who doesn't care, will not even notice it.
You may not know why I'm telling you that. But you will have to trust me. You, me, everyone here, we are all under the same negative pressure in this fanbase depending on your social circle and place you reach.
Yes. I can take opinion. What I'm talking about is something else. A social phenomenon. Now, whether you believe me or not doesn't matter, the forum speaks for itself.

Btw, 90% of the people in this forum would simply be physically incapable of reading something like LotR if they complain about the "nothingburger" chapters in one piece.

Tbf, half of these threads were made by the same person.
It's not a coincidence if Twitter is becoming more and more toxic about One Piece, the toxicity is allowed by the structure of the algorythm and it spreads to random fans who are starting to wonder why everyone is suddenly hating the story that they have spent 4 month crying and screaming about.
Imagine finishing One Piece, wanting to share about your hype and your excitment, and looking at this list of thread and the replies of this forum...
This is not okay. At least not for a fan site. i'm been saying this from the beginning and it has only worsen since then.

For them it’s part of the fun to hate post on a fan forum if the story goes a different way than they expect. And yes this has gone on for years, even during pre timeskip Arlong Park days. But honestly that community genuinely likes the story and engages with it.
I think it’s just what happens when all the battle battle shonen manga fans migrated to One Piece more once Naruto and Bleach ended, and younger users who post about nothing but power scaling where this is more adventure series compared to other battle shonen (story over fights).
Criticism is healthy and welcomed. Most of the time it’s whiny edge lords who swear they can tell
the story better than Oda can. Whether you like it or not, the series subverts expectations and that says a lot for a series this long

I agree. This is more of an intervention than anything. I genuingly believe that people, even those who hate it or managed to convinced themself through peer pressure that One Piece was bad, completely love the story.
The problem is the effect the trashtalk has on the long term when it becomes a system.
I'll be very honest here. I'm scared as F to publish anything because I know for a fact - after trying to understand it - that nothing will ever come close to what Oda is capable of doing in OP. EVEN in the last yonko Saga.
People are genuingly missing the complexity of the story simply because Luffy is laughing a bit too much while making Pizza with two officials. They are unknowingly killing their own enjoyment quite literally for a bit of clout and social recognition, it's scary.
Show me the truth then.
