Not really, it only proves he could be a Holy Knight. But Marines are a part of the WG too, there's no reason why a particularly loyal Marine couldn't have a WG emblem on their clothes.
It could be exclusive to Celestial Dragon. The Marine is a sub organization that is below them, their attires are different. Just look at Sengoku, he doesn't seems to have any WG emblem.

They're all literally the same thing essentially. Sure he could be a Holy Knight, but he could just as plausibly be a Marine.
Not that much.

Not only marines usually don't dress like that, bar exceptions, but even when they do, they wear different colours. Instead, HK are literally copies of that same style and with the same colours.

And more so because the dude has a WG symbol.
I can't remember of a single marine having one of those.

Canonically, true yes. But I fear we might start getting a precedent otherwise, unless you think Gunko is evil until Imcel is defeated. There's probably some sort of weird loophole that'll be introduced
That’s exactly what I think, this flashback serves only to provide a perspective and was actually saved for much later but Oda decided to show it now as he needs to buy himself time to get involved with the OPLA project, basically like a break.

Gunko won’t suddenly break out of Imu’s control just because of the flashback, she might manage to break out monetarily to reconcile with Brook but her personality will be promptly washed out and remain a villain till the end as she’ll serve as Brook’s final villain.

This is exactly how I see Super Sommers being Robin’s FV and Quillingham being Jinbei’s final villain if they survive Zoro and Sanji this arc.

- First of all, his face looks slightly deformed.
- At first, i thought he had a nose like Kaku's, but it's probably some kind of bandage (is he injured?)
- The part of his head/hair looks like Oden's?, or he has a hat on his head.

In this panel he looks like Krieg - hair/hat

I suspect it might be some mafia boss (Mouron Family).

And here he looks like Bison from the Street Fighter series.

Also - this cigarette and fog - maybe it's a previous user of Moku Moku ?!?!

No your initial thought was right and that’s just his nose lol

perhaps it is the holy knight that would kidnapp shakky for garling 30 years later and then administer pirate island for the world government for 40 years. would mean he was already around 50 during god valley. would explan the double tripple quadruple chin

same cravat, same fold under the eyes,
same pose
same nose

Shut the fuck up
even some years ago there was a lolcow on youtube who wanted to write an autobiography, but he wasn't very literate so she used a speech-to-text programm. now wth ai, i suspsect this behavior will become more widespread. nevertheless, all my posts here have been typed. the only sound i produce is the clack from the mechanical keyboard. so i am in fact "shutting up" already. although i am planning to open my mouth again, to record a video soon. stay tuned!

He is most definitely a HK, possibly even the commander at that time. Also most likely the true father of Shuri/Gunko and where she inherited the Manmayer family name from.

When that WG ship drifted into Esperia all those years ago, he's most likely the CD onboard the vessel and he either SA or blackmailed Candelle into having a child with him, which caused her to be bedridden for months on end as to hide her pregnancy from the public before Leuven married her to preserve her dignity.

Plus there is good possibility that he's the Don Mouron fellow mentioned earlier and the former user of the Smoke DF and the one responsible for the smog that caused the downfall of Esperia.

PS: If Candelle is actually a CD, possibly even a DB or HK, she's either a runaway or all of this is an elaborate infiltration scheme to achieve some kind of hidden goal in Esperia we still don't know about, and that HK dude could actually be her real husband back in Marijoa.

So who is this guy?

He has somewhat of a Yakuza vibe, could be an Admiral. The fact that he showed up alongside a Gorosei could be similar to how Kizaru was sent to protect Saturn on Egghead.

Then again he doesn’t seem to be dressed like an Admiral or a Marine, so he could not be affiliated with them.

He could have been the Holy Knight Commander before Garling, which raises the question if he will ever appear again?

He could be the Burning Man, who was foreshadowed as being affiliated with the World Government. Could he have been promoted from Holy Knight Commander to Road Poneglyph guardian?

Anyway share your bets.
