Speculations Agendas are too old to care about anymore

It's not just this forum lmao it's dying on Reddit and Twitter too. The interactions may still seem a lot but as a former active member, they have reduced a lot.

The story is garbage lmao the battleboarding is the only fun part. Most serious conversations about the story devolve into "Wow Goda dropped peak" without any real substance.

I don't feel miserable about the series at all. Maybe at one time I was frustrated and raging yes, now I feel nothing but apathy. I really can't care less if this manga dies or becomes more popular. Or whether Oda drops an arc worse than Wano or a new Marineford. I have reached the point where the only thing I am half interested in is to find out what the One Piece in and even that is not something I will drop my jaw over. It's like before I ever started reading the series.

I am glad I got to witness Marineford though, I'll say this experience and waste of time series is worth it just for that Summit War Saga. That whole Sabaody-Marineford run is one of the greatest fictional runs and the most fun I have had with any animanga.
Hmmm, you know One Piece is a global phenomenon right? Look at cons, and other forums and groups around the world. It’s very much alive. Whatever groups or forums you’re checking are still a small percentage of the fanbase of the entirety of One Piece. It’s no longer just IP that you remember it from the Marine ford time. It’s far bigger and popular. And your opinion about the story is your opinion, you only care about the fights so you confirm what several users here care about. Battle manga!

I come to this site because it has a fun niche, powerscaling agenda banter vibe. But people need to seriously stop treating this like the fanbase itself. It’s far from it. I don’t think people here adapted to just how big this series has gotten in the last years.

You basically wrote my response for me, so thanks for that.

I agree that the popularity of One Piece is an illusion. The average consumer is 38 years old and can't figure out basic underlying themes. Why? It's because there isn't enough of them actually trying. Instead, they form group consensus and then run with it without considering other avenues of storytelling. This is called being insular to plot.

By the way, if you go to cons or other countries, you realize most people at those cons are actually paid to be there or it's cosplayers trying to pass themselves off as Gear 5 Luffy without knowing he likes to eat meat or that he's a simple person.

Being a hardcore One Piece fan means going through all of the chapters, SBS, old discussions, to form new ideas. These people don't really exist. However, casual fans who watch a few episodes on Netflix and then read the newest chapter get bored and quit once they start getting fatigued exist in masses.

I'm basically saying the deep lore hardcore readers don't really exist. It's mostly casuals looking for battle manga vibes.

And Lord help us, the battle manga vibes are aging like milk. It's like Oda is trying to breastfeed us, but he isn't producing anymore lol...

The worst part of One Piece is Oda's fixation with creating hundreds of new ret@rded, irrelevant characters every arc instead of expanding on the well written, older ones that the fanbase actually cares about. Characters will sit there unused for decades just so Oda can introduce the 13th random Wano faction full of bullshit.

Nope, just as much as I had a random roommate from Brazil who’s younger while I was an American living in Germany, it was totally normal that she was a OP head and it was that common to have that at this point.

You’re assuming a lot. People like the story and series for different reasons. It’s that simple. This is what I’m talking about. That this site has a tendency to project on a fanbase bigger than what they comprehend. It’s like people “know it’s popular” without fully grasping people care about different things about the series that it offer for others.
