You know I keep seeing these One piece content creators saying that this is actually good for the character development of Brook, but what the fk did we learn about him there that we didn’t already know ? We know he is honorable because he almost sacrificed himself to get the poneglyph from big mom.
We already know he has a lot of heart and compassion because his dream is to reunite with a lost friend in Laboon.
It adds layers to Brook, but it’s layers that were already there as he could have had the exact same fatherly role with Bonney on the ship.
And after that they say, "Op isn’t a combat/powerscaling type story, it’s a story based around mysteries that we the reader want to solve." Well it’s almost 1200 chapters in, maybe it’s time to give answers no ?
