Powers & Abilities Why is Oda hiding Loki’s hybrid?

#21
I think Loki’s Haki is similar to Yamato’s. I mean, Loki barely even knew what it was, and his Conqueror’s Haki is weak and incapable of splitting the sky. Luffy’s, on the other hand, is superior and can split the sky even in base form. That’s why he can damage Imu more easily than Loki can, even while in base. After all, even though Loki has the physical strength of an Ancient Giant, a lightning-imbued weapon, and ACoC, none of that matters if his Haki is weak.

And Yamato matched kaidou haki :MonkeWhat:. And later, after witnessing Kaido and Luffy’s clash, Yamato directly compared it to Roger and Whitebeard in his prime.

So matching someone in a clash doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Don’t people usually use Luffy’s statement, “I’ve never felt Haki like this before,” or even Gaban’s statement to rank Imu above every Haki those characters had ever witnessed? Then the same logic applies to Loki. That means Loki’s Haki, which according to you matched Imu’s, is still inferior to Imu’s. You can’t have it both ways. Either you start following the correct line of reasoning and admit that matching someone in a clash doesn’t necessarily make you their equal, or your argument contradicts itself.

Imu’s Haki received far more emphasis in Elbaf from both Luffy and Gaban than Loki’s ever did. Loki’s Haki wasn’t even mentioned or hyped up. All the hype was about his Devil Fruit. LMAO.

We'll probably have a double page spread of Luffy going G5 and Loki going hybrid at the same time.

Oda was likely saving it because he wanted Loki to have a good showing in that form but at the same time couldn't justify him doing well against Imu by himself.

I forgot the part where imu likes to play with his food and hold his strength like Kaido does
Nah, Kaido at least had Big Mom directly state that about him, and he himself wanted to see just how strong the Supernovas were, and there is an entire panel of Hawkins explaining that Kaido does not kill or defeat his opponents quickly. He tries to break their spirits until they eventually agree to join his crew...

Imu, on the other hand, has not shown even a single real indication of having that personality trait, especially considering the circumstances he is currently in. But the fact remains that a clash by itself does not prove that your Haki is equal to your opponent’s. Loki’s Haki is not equal to Imu’s, just as Yamato’s Haki was neither equal to nor as strong as Kaido’s. The way Imu’s Haki was portrayed in Elbaf through Luffy and Gaban strongly suggests that it is superior to Loki’s, whose Haki was never praised or hyped by anyone. Neither Luffy nor Gaban ever reacted to Loki’s Haki the way they did to Imu’s.

Loki is basically the Yamato of this arc, with Haki on the same level. Luffy has superior Haki, just like Imu.

That’s why Luffy doesn’t need the insane physical strength of an Ancient Giant like Loki, plus a lightning-powered weapon and weak Yamato-level Haki, just to make Imu shed a few drops of blood. He doesn’t even need attacks as powerful as the explosive blasts Loki was unleashing with his thunder roars. All he needs is a single punch in base form, coated with Haki superior to Loki’s, to damage the tough guy Loki was whining about. LOL

"Let's talk about it. Is this Loki's Yamato lvl haki in the room with us?"

Because when fighting against Imu, Base Loki performs better than Zoan Loki.
Base Loki failed to tag Imu once without Imu being distracted and even when he got tagged he barely did any damage compared to zoan form that forced Imu to actually block

and Imu failed to damage zoan form Loki while he did manage to continuously tag base loki

Same reason why oda saved Kaido's hybrid form for last. For a hype reveal.

Honestly I am more interested in whether oda will give loki awakening or not.
Kaido was stronger than Luffy so narrative momentum allowed him to have the luxury of holding back his best shit

Loki is weaker than Imu yet he’s being given the same treatment as though this fight with the STRONGEST GUY IN THE VERSE doesn’t have any urgency for him

Didn't want Loki to use his hybrid before the battle truly gets serious with Luffy joining in. I believe we're getting a full doublespread of gigantified Nika/Hybrid Nidhogg together soon (next chapter?)
Loki’s fought Imu for like 5 chapters and their fight is still not serious.

that is fucking wild

I do believe that Oda wants a Luffy/loki panel of them together but he has sacrificed the pacing of this fight for it

Loki damaged Imu in base too
