Reborn

Throughout Heaven & Earth,I alone am d Honored One
The old France team (Zizou, Titi, Trezeguet, Makelele, Lizarazou, etc) were all nice guys and the majority of people outside of France loved most of them.

This generation feels so arrogant for some reason.
I remember watching 2006 WC final late night. Was so much into France to win that final. When that Zidane infamous headbutt happened and I saw him leaving the field with head down I felt so bad.

And, seeing Italy lift that WC made me curse them so much lol

That generation of France was indeed some of the best we have seen.

if Colombia wins the quarter finals against Argentina, will you guys consider them a serious contender to win?
Obviously. It’s just that other nations who are favourite have history of already having won a World Cup. It’s a « conservative » mindset but world cups are historically shared between a few nations. Even if it’s not the same players like Spain.

But just like Spain. New nations have got to enter the restricted club of winners someday

Are they really arrogant ? I don’t remember anyone else assaulting an Italian with the head in final.

By no means does Colombia have the history of nations like Argentina or Brazil, but it has always been somewhat respected in conmebol and has had really good players since the 90s. It also has the advantage of being a South American team so it wouldn’t come as a complete shock since it wouldn’t break the European/South American hegemony over the sport.

don’t get me wrong, I still think it’s a very VERY long shot. It all comes down to the quarter finals.

You should do some research on the 1998 World Cup draw.

Platini officially admitted they maniputaled it so that France wouldn't face Brazil until the final.
Lmao, so you are hating something happened in 1998 basically 28 years ago ? Oh i remember the "hand of god" of Maradona in 86 too, what about that ? silence ?

And why Brazil didn't destroy France ? We beat them 3-0 while we were 10 vs 11.

Or shall i talk about Infantino and Argentina in 2022 ? all the dirtiest things they did and yet 0 red card, penalties one after one, open racism. Paredes dangerous tackle + literally kicked the ball towards the Dutch bench and simple "yellow" card or the Goat who can touch the ball with his hand and not even a yellow card that would have got him a red card ?
I don't even wanna talk about this tournament, it started when they moved France from Group J to Group I for Argentina because they didn't want Spain and Argentina in the same bracket :suresure:

You guys are funny af ...

I don't hate France at all man. I consider them the #1 favorite to win the tournament, I'm just trying to tell you that many teams (clubs or nations) and big star players are always favored.

It's not just Argentina and Messi (i.e the red card with Algeria).

- There are countless examples, Cristiano shouldn't have started this World Cup because of his red card in the qualifiers, but they changed the rules.

- Sponsors forced R9 to play in the '98 World Cup final, even though he was in the hospital a few hours earlier (he wasn't even in the starting lineup and showed up at the last minute).
I wont even start talking about clubs like RMA,Barca,Bayern etc that have huge referee help compared to smaller ones.

Is that right? Of course not, but that's how it is.

You need to stop with the conspiracy theories.
