Who told you that the tail is downgrading and insulting?
After all, it was used to block King of Hell haki state which is to this day unmatched haki coating among all characters we have ever seen.
If Imu trashed Zoro in Demon God form, I would be concerned but he ended up trashing Luffy in God form instead...

Doesnt matter what happens in the next chapters, if he loses in this one, it is over.
Everything else is plot armor and infinite chances because villains refuse to kill him on the spot.
Doesnt matter how he prevails in the end, ultimately, he is not strong enough to beat opponents without some kind of assistance.

Gotta give Loki is flowers after this if you ain’t already tbh. This mofo hasn’t even dished out his hybrid yet & was able to tango with Imu for a considerable amount of time yet the man that beat Kaido is getting washed in a few interactions 💀. Plus the biggest indictment on Luffy is that Imu called him weak 😅. Of course you could argue Imu’s standard for Luffy is higher but still 💀

Luffy will of course grow from this before the ends but just goes to show what levels we currently balling at.

The problem with Oda is... once we get to those characters you mentioned, Oda would introduce another 10 fodders characters and focus more on them.

Kaido finally believed in Joyboy after he got beaten by a much weaker version (Wano G5 was just barely escaping death while this G5 Luffy was at 150% at least) of the same form/power which was viewed weak by Imu.

Yep, there's no excuse. Kaido isn't the "Nr. 1 top tier" everyone viewed him as in Wano. Some fans still cannot let go of it. Heck, MonsterKaido realised that Kaido's just a big fish in a small pond, which doesn't even compare to the vast ocean, and quickly abandoned the ship.

Kaido was a massive disappointment in terms of strength. The idea that base Luffy was a serious rival to hybrid Kaido was a complete joke.

Notice after Wano, Luffy immediately goes back into Gear spamming for every other opponent. Base Luffy was never again relevant after hybrid Kaido.

Against Lucci, Luffy immediately went into Gear 5.

Against Kizaru, Luffy immediately goes into Snake Man, gets trashed, goes into Gear 5, and gets half focused on by an emotionally conflicted Kizaru who treated Nika as more of a nuisance/distraction while his real struggle was bringing himself to murder Vegapunk.

Against the Gorosei, Luffy spams Gear 5 constantly, he tries Gear 3 but Warcury trashes him and is forced to slam Gear 5.

Against Imu, now Luffy is using Gear 5 and either getting low diffed or outright one shot depending on how the chapter goes while Imu calls him weak.

The idea that base fucking Luffy could go blow for blow with Kaido was the absolute end of the Yawnco agenda. Kaido really is the post timeskip Moriah.

Moriah’s whole character is that he had PTSD from facing stronger characters than him, we thought Moriah was strong for his time but it was always obvious that he was a silver medalist.

Kaido is the same, Kaido’s whole character is PTSD from Oden bodying him, never fighting any characters stronger than him, and constantly being humiliated by wanting to fight strong characters who never acknowledged him or gave him the time of day. Kaido’s immediate destiny was to be that exact same silver medalist, it was always obvious to me that he was going to get far out classed with time.
