Well, he has a point... kind of.
Imu was very weakened when HK Harald got killed, so he would be even in a worse shape if Sanji and Zoro kill Summers and Killingham. However, Oda never made them kill their opponents, so maybe he'll look out for another solution.

I guess Gunko might take a role in it too.

Yes, the one thing I can give Luffy is that in gear 5, seeing him take a hit correlates even more loosely to damage than normal for the series (not dying from Croc or Mogura, Jinbe getting the same treatment as Ace, for examples). He takes that massive punch and doesn't even bleed. The final hit should end it but he can probably heal from chicken nuggets stored in his pocket

The imu schizo thing was a fun shitpost to make fun of oda inconsistency but at this point oda mind really go for a mind degradation plotline cause it getting wild at this point, maybe because how long he was alive and maybe even body hoping
