Character Discussion Imu - General Discussion

#1
We can discuss whatever topics about Imu here.

I'll start.

Imu's hair, horn, and pants are somewhat decent. His devilish ring is great. But my main complaint, why the white dots and lines on his skin tho? It makes his design way too cramped/crowded.

Talking about design, isn't the talking black flames with mouth and fangs etc too similar to Moria's bats?

Also, what translation does to the way he talks is getting annoying. Where art hou hath doth dest dost etc lol

And finally about his powers and moveset. What is the ranking of his moves from the weakest to strongest?

Imu is starting to interest me more and more . If he was former crewmate of Joyboy it makes sense both Im and Joyboy had a common enemy back in void century.

At some point Imu and Joyboy had disagreement about the world and how it must be ruled . I think void century arc will be very interesting from Imu’s perspective. Maybe the 20 kings weremt stereotypically bad people and Joyboy wasnt really a nice guy as well . Thats why Rayleigh always said Straw hats will interpret differently after reaching laugh tale.

Devilbat

Just chill and let chill

Design-wise, agree. White dots make him into Killmonger wannabe.

Vs
His speech is annoying af.
His powers inconsistent imo (DR kills Davy clan but somehow heals the giants. Very convenient).
While I do like the evil WG to overthrown, I also dislike Imu and everything connected to him, and am not happy to have him as a FV.
But alas, who cares.

What if all this time Imu used his authority and power, Ancient Weapons, Gorosei, etc, all to protect the world from something (apocalypse / judgement day) or someone (judgement personification, the actual final boss lol)?

I think it's possible that's how the world government originally started, but I don't think you can really reasonably argue the modern WG has much of a goal beyond the CD's enriching themselves and killing people for fun. Imu is probably a bad faith actor who took advantage of the world being a chaotic situation, enslaved the kings, and ended up going insane after 800 years.

Plus, isn't it kind of heavily implied Imu is behind the plan to sink the world?
