The flashback caused massive damage to Kaido's reputation ngl. Oden needed one attack, Dragon Kaido was laying on the ground AND Oden was really about to strike again if it wasn't for the old hag interrupting the battle.

Oh yep, Oden also got trashed a lot for it buuuut... He got blindsided from behind, Kaido hitting the back of his head with an ACoC blow I assume. Kaido wasn't blindsided when he fought Oden.

The fact that Luffy‘s strongest attack still struggled with Kaido‘s last move despite being having gravity on his side, isn‘t looking good for him either.

Kaido 100% vs G5 would still be an extreme diff.

Luffy was waiting for Momo to take Onigashima out of his way, after that he overpowered Kaido and send him across the country into the vulcano chambers...

Have in mind, he lost to Luffy who just made a new attack...
Kaido haki was matched by Rookie Luffy...
His drunken form was matched by G2/G3 Luffy, they even had equal clashes...

Yes he was looking good against G5, but G5 also managed to put him on his knees...
Kaido is strong, but he is not at the top, never was above the top...

Also if Kaido was awakened, it would be worse for Luffy. Elbaph level Luffy isn‘t impressive what so ever and Imu would destroy Kaido too, but Kaido would still put a better fight than Luffy.

Kaido lost legit to Luffy depends having back up like Big Mom.
If you getting nerfed from Scabbards attacks, you are legit not high in endurance...

Kaido vs Luffy was a legit equal clash, when Luffy comeback, he was also nerfed and he still managed to beat Kaido.
He surpassed him in the end of Wano..

And current Luffy is stronger than the Luffy who surpassed Kaido...

Loki or Shanks are stronger than Kaido and it is not even that close.
