We don't know how Emeth works, ancient tech robots might be built by infusing a metal body with a human mind.

Ok then soul transfer if you prefer that, my original point still stands, ancient tech is so advanced that soul transfer isn't out of the question.

That being said, it was never confirmed that Emeth has a soul.
