There’s too much to unpack with the world government, Oda is reaffirming there will be a final war. From Whitebeard’s own mouth, this final war happens after the one piece is found/true history revealed.

Teach will be Luffy’s top challenger for pirate king and to be the one to fight Imu but he’ll fall short of that and lose to Luffy.

You still cope that Teach is tied to being king of the world via Davy Jones and Xebec connection, being the pirate king is like a side-quest for Teach now.

My issue with idea #1 is that Teach and his crew are laughable compared to the WG. They likewise do not represent the centuries of oppression Whitebeard spoke of coming to light in the final war. They did not cause it and have nothing to do with it besides being victims of this oppression. So Teach taking out Imu kneecaps a lot of what Oda's been building towards.

Idea #2 is just a shallow bait and switch IMO. It's really not appealing to anyone but BB fans.

By using that logic Luffy's crew is laughable compared to the WG as well, but they will grow stronger, same way BB pirates will grow stronger.

WG isn't Imu's crew as well, Imu is hiding from the world for a reason, he doesn't have full control over the Marines and the other kingdoms as well. He will even lose control over Gunko at some point, and it's possible that he might lose control over Garling and Shamrock. And the Revolutionary exist to weaken the WG, which will help Luffy and Teach as well.

I hate imcel as much as the other person and I love teach

but the point of this entire arc is to establish him as the biggest threat
luffy at this point of his career isnt getting beat like this
by anyone else.

That doesn't dispute about what I said, Teach has the power to directly cancel Luffy's G5, Imu can't directly do that without damaging him heavily, even after 2 full stabs with special swords didn't do that. Teach has an ability that Imu doesn't have.

Teach's Quake DF AoE is also superior to Imu's AoE.

Imcel hyped Teach's ancestor on the same level as JB, don't compare Teach's underling level fighters such as Aokiji and Akainu with Teach.

Nothing to do with what I said, this thread simply proves Teach has an ability that so called FV doesn't have, as well as AoE ability that Imu doesn't have as well.
