From studies I read, women's sexualities are often more fluid than male sexuality, with the latter being considered more hard-wired/difficult to change once it has become 'set'.
In the same tone, most of the Detrans discourse is driven by former FtM who's gender dysphoria turned out to be temporary or at least became more moderate as they grew older

tbh a lot of them were just non binaryish girls who got too deep into pretty boy aesthetics in specific subcultures

There has certainly been a gynocentric capture of the detrans discourse. I am personal friends with Stella O'Malley, founder of Genspect, and have had a few in-depth conversations with her on this specific topic.

I consider transgenderism and especially de-trans to be a specialist topic of mine. I've been a mentor to many individuals who have to come to/are coming to terms with the regret of transition, and assisted them in rebuilding their lives after experiencing irreversible changes to their bodies due to transgender medical care that has (further) destroyed their self-perception and mental health. I think the issue is only going to grow over time.

I remember thinking about this 3-4 years ago

Hypothetically though

Can't a woman who took testosterone

Just take estrogen, and it reverses the changes?

No. I know Logiko will attack me for this - but that is patently false. I know many detrans females to males who have irrevocable vocal chord damage by testosterone. The throat itself is not always wide enough for the changes of male puberty, causing permanent, chronic pain without surgical intervention to those whom this applies (which isn't always successful and never returns the natural voice - note, this is not a standard treatment, and most detrans women cannot get this due to the absurd costs).

Whilst not all FtMs lose their fertility, some do due to the masculinising hormones. There are changes that are more permanent as a result of the masculinisation process, from impacts to their hairline all the way to their facial appearance (though some of it can be feminised). The degree of reversibility runs parallel to the amount of time they were transitioning.

Then you need to consider MtFs. Breasts cannot be removed without surgical intervention. Virility is almost always permanently impacted should they be on estrogen long enough, and especially if they use puberty or testosterone blockers. In terms of reversibility of feminine appearance, quite a bit can be changed with testosterone, but as illustrated before, not all of it.

This all excludes surgical transgender medical care. A man who undergoes a vaginoplasty will never have his penis back. A woman who has a masectomy will never have functional breasts for child-rearing. A woman who has a hysterectomy is not getting her ability to birth children back. Facial feminisation surgery is not really reversible, and neither is vocal feminisation surgery.

It's not as simple as 'all can be reversed'. Anybody who tells you that is misinformed, an zealous activist, or a malicious actor.

I mean, I'm far left politically

I'm not anti trans people and I would physically fight to protect them

I just disagree with their choices though
I'd hope anyone would fight to protect an innocent, regardless if they have a protected status or not.

As to why they make their choice - these reasons are numerous from my experience working with victims of transgender care. A condensed list outside the traditional would include: Body dysmorphia, social problems due to autism, abusive households leading to mental distress, a desire to destroy the self without suicide, identity disorders, internalised homophobia, grooming, fetishisation, and idolisation of transgenderism.

I have pity for them more than anything. I have worked very hard to help some of these poor souls rebuild - and no, I've not always succeeded. It is what it is.

So you want to be caught in the middle of it?

Trust me you don‘t but I get your point
I mean, it's all about context. I'm going to use situational awareness before I get involved in something physical because it's not even certain who is the initial aggressor at times, and there is also no point in getting involved if I lack the capabilities to resolve it (for example, I am unarmed and both individuals have weapons, fuck that).

Aren‘t you living in England?
Yeah, they do apply. Albeit, self-defence laws are cracked and dumb here. Proportional force is a senseless term in a deadly situation. Nobody can know what proportional force is in those situations. Once things escalate against a grown man, you really shouldn't be stopping until they're unable to fight back, and by that point, you've probably done something deadly.

Reality is, I guess I'd like to believe I'd act in all situations, but I probably wouldn't. My own biases would get in the way, no doubt. I know for certain however that if it was any of my family in danger it's no question.
