I have been reading One Piece since the Arlong arc, and never considered about looking at the online discussion forms. I came here thinking I was gonna be able to gain some level of insight into One Piece and was excited to read the conversations. The reality of the situation was nothing short of a gut punch.
The toxic immaturity of these discussions is disgusting and genuinely makes me lose faith in humanity. The Sanji and Zoro fanboys have turned this into such a nasty community, and the moderators haven’t done a goddamn thing to try to control this nasty behavior. I honestly don’t understand why any of you bothered to stick around to contribute. Maybe some of you are so deeply entrenched in all of this that you’ve lost perspective on just how nasty this all is, and maybe some of you are stuck in the sunken cost fallacy and figure you spent so much time on here you may as well see it through, but I still genuinely do not understand it. At this point, I honestly think that American politics pales in comparison to the nastiness & toxicness of these forms.
I was so excited for genuine conversations, discussions, and debate about this wonderful manga. Y’all are absolutely disappointing in every single possible way. From the moderators that do fuck all about any of this, to the Sanji and Zoro fanboys that have taken over this with their shameful behavior. The responses that I’ve seen on here are comparable to dumpster juice on a hot summer day.
