Oh, I am not questioning your love for his character or anything. I know there are way crazier fans out there than me. But I have noticed over the years that there are a lot of different ideas about where his character should go. Which is a good thing, if everyone agreed on everything, that would be boring.

I just don't see Oda hating him. Don't lose hope. Wusopp will shock us all.

Elbaf is proof Oda isn’t careless but rather he is purposeful spiteful towards Usopp. There are so many plot lines in this arc that would have been perfect for Usopp, helping his masters regain their humanity, fighting an orange themed villain who uses fear based DF, Having Usopp deal with the tension of his own idealized version of Elbaf and the pacifist approach they have now taken, Having a magical ten ton hammer who is actually a Squirell (In Japanese Squirell literally means Chestnut Mouse/ Chestnut is the crest of the Montblanc family Usopp lied about being part of in Dressrosa), and on and on. Usopp hasn’t even been top 10 in panel time in this despite saying at the end of Egghead “onwards to Elbaf, onwards to my dream”
