Imu clearly massively outclasses Luffy and is Top 1 all time. Shanks said his power is immeasurable and taking him out rn would also waste all the Gorosei and God’s Knights as well deflate the inevitable Void Century flashback. Luffy beating him this arc would kill all stakes and tension for the rest of the story. However on the other hand Imu winning but somehow not killing Luffy might be just as bad. Kaido, CP9, Aokiji, and Crocodile, all either were too arrogant and lazy to finish Luffy off, naively thought they could break Luffy’s will and turn him into their underling, or weren’t actually hostile to Luffy. Imu has already said he’s let go of his arrogance before descending. As seen by what he said after Harald died, he doesn’t want to take Luffy as subordinate, and he hates him.

Sommers outright said Imu cannot withstand the outside world, so hes constantly under strain rn. Its taking its toll on him and he might feel like its too much at some point.

Imu’s time limit isn’t a solution. You can’t have your final villain be introduced have him cause no significant or lasting damage and have him fail at all his goals. Imagine Yhwach in the first invasion leaving but not killing Yamamoto or Sasakibe and having Mask de Masculine and Bazz B get stomped by Renji and Toshiro before leaving. It destroys his presence as a villain.

?? Chopper was healing Gaban since he fell to the underworld and chopper was at the lift for most of the battle and only went to the western village at the end of the DR Giant fights. Before that he was focused on tending to Gaban specifically.

He can stall. He should still be stronger than Luffy currently so he can at least do a bit

I don't remember Sommers saying that this is based on time. It's the most common assumption and by far the easiest contrivance to end the arc (I think there's at least a 30% chance Sommers and Killingham don't even lose), but it still doesn't have to be true relative to how things play out.

Could be true given conqueror blast undo their transformation and teleportation in Egghead.

Zoro and Sanji conqueror could just make them teleport back instead of getting beaten.

Ironically, I think the Haoshoku to knock them back probably has to be greater than the Haki use needed to just bypass their healing. It's like the difference between Gaban and Joyboy, although they're also harder to hit with what seems like Omen boosts to their Haki now

Warcury mentioned consequences of Imu's descent, and the assumption that Imu just goes home doesn't fit that. I don't think we'll see Imu hit a time limit while he's beating the living shit out of the whole island

Maybe there is no time limit then.

Imu gets the consequences of using those power after using that form.
- Like luffy turning into a kid, or couldn't move at all after his gears.
- though I expect consrquences for Imu to ve far bigger.

True, but I think Haki mass > Haki burst when it boils down to Individual 1v1 in the current situation
