@Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier I don't get why it's so hard for people to admit that even Oda doesn't seem to know what counts as swordsmanship in One Piece.

Kaku using his legs to launch wind slices = swordsmanship
Mr. 1 turning his arms and legs into blades = not swordsmanship

Wtf??? Make it make sense. I mean you just know that Oda would definitely say that S-hawk turning his limbs into blades is still swordsmanship even though it didn't count for Mr. 1

It's really not lol.
You either project your powers through hands or weapons. It's as simple as that.
Sure buddy

at this point i'm pretty sure it's just about whether or not a character considers themselves a swordsman
of course there are characters that are just objectively a swordsman (zoro, mihawk, tashigi, shanks, rayleigh etc.) but ykwim

it's clearly more complex than that in the op world
Its not. There is 0 example that it actually is. The only persons who think it is are fans whom use headcanon.

Using the same logic is a devil fruit user less of a devil fruit user if he or she rarely uses their fruit? No. Are they less of a devil fruit user because they have other abilities or techniques outside of Devil fruit abilities? No.

The only persons whom created these extra stipulations for swordsman are the fans

Again false. Ofa made it clear. The fans think otherwise. Mr 1 by definition is a swordsman. The only person who claimed he wasn't a swordsman was himself.

But just because he claims that he is not a swordsman doesn't take away from the fact that he actually is. A perfect example is luffy. Does luffy claim to be nika? Does he claim or even acknowledge that his devil fruit is the nika nika fruit and not the gomu gomu fruit? No. So using your same analogy does that take away the fact that luffy is not using a mytical awakened zoan fruit? No.

Razor and lineman dont even claim to be devil fruit users. They call their arts NINJUTSU. So does that mean they are NOT devil fruit users based on the example classification of mr1? No. So the entire ideology is false

Again cap. Using your logic this would mean luffy ISNT using the nika nika fruit she he has not acknowledged or claimed that he is using the fruit.

You get this entire argument just completely invalidates Zoros dream because the strongest pirate in the world was Whitebeard who wielded a legendary sword so by your definition would be a swordsman canonically stronger than Mihawk

You get how stupid this is right?

It actually doesn't. Zoro never gave criteria of what he considers a swordsman to be hence why he has called every opponent whom wields a sword A SWORDSMAN.

ZOROS IDEA OF A SWORDSMAN IS "YOU ARE STRONG AND FIGHT WITH A SWORD". Its why he still considered cabaji a swordsman even though dude rides on a unicycle, use acrobatics and martial arts to fight and spits fire, all because the dude was strong and fought with a SWORD

Cabaji calls himself a swordsman. That’s why Zoro says “I can’t lose to anyone WHO CALLS THEMSELVES A SWORDSMAN”

:okay:

Cap. Zoro never relied on cabaji calling himself a swordsman to call him one. He literally never does that.

He called mr 2 a swordsman from jump and did the same to king. Those two had to tell him that they weren't. And even then zoros reponse was that it didnt matter to him since they were strong and used swords lol.

Whitebeard is also not swordsman because his bladed weapon is NOT a sword. Its a pole arm.

Whitebeard is a pole arm weapon user that happens to be a haki user and a devil fruit user.

Again zoro did not rely on this statement from cabaji to acknowledge him as a swordsman. He acknowledge cabaji as a swordsman before this statement.

And this still doesn't change the fact that he did the same to king and mr1, acknowledging them as swordsmans in the beginning only to be told by both of them ththat arent swordsman only for zoro to respond that he didnt care lol. Infact zoro even told king that if it meant him NOT fighting as a swordsman he would still put the belt on king lol.

So zoro himself state that even if it meant him (zoro) not fighting as a swordsman (punching kicking or even biting king) he was still fighting king. Which shows that regardless of the answer ZORO DOES NOT CARE LOL

He literally doesn’t lmao
Hmm cant believe I am saying this but you are actually right. Even in the panel you showed zoro, actually never acknowledged him as a swordsman. Going back to the chapters in the VIZ he actually explained why. It was because cabaji was using under handed tricks / fighting dirty.

So zoros criteria of being a swordsman is :
Being strong

Fighting with a sword

Not using underhanded tricks

Using haki, martial arts, devil fruit ability along with your swordsmanship does not discredit you from being a swordsman in his eyes. Its using under handed tactics that does.

So zoros criteria for what a swordsman is,is not as vast as people think it is at all.

In zoros eyes king (special race, devil fruit user, haki user, fights with brace knuckles and kicks , also has a sword) was considered a swordsman by his definition

Mr1 (devil fruit user, martial artist, body made of blades) classified a swordsman.

By zoros definition law, fujitora, Shanks, s-hawk, bigmom are all swordsman. Especially since none of the following above even denied them being so. Only the fans

Zoros and Odas opinion on who’s a swordsman is who considers themselves swordsmen.

To Zoro Mr. 1 was not a swordsman. King was not a swordsman. It’s that simple.
