I’m certain Yamato would overpower DD Zoro just as Sommers did.
After all, she possessed refined control over CoC, whereas Zoro lacks control over his own.

However, Zoro will surpass Yamato by the end of this arc and land in the lower tier of the top-tier fighters.

See how she can give a fight of at least a solid mid diff to Kaido..
Kaido was in her strongest mode, using her advCoC all the time, and she still managed to block some attacks, exchanged blows, hit him, and partially defended herself from thunder bagua..

I don't see Zoro or Sanji doing this nowadays, since Zoro's strongest attack was dominated by Sommers.

But I'm sure that at the end of this arc they will overtake Yamato and she can finally join the crew

People had Zoro > Oden after the King fight, and I was trying to tell them how absurd that kind of take is, when Oden is just better at utilising the same sword, and haki in every way.

Yamato was able to clash on with Hybrid Kaido's bagua, so if you put Zoro using dragon damnation there, what happens?

Does Zoro get swatted back like with Sommers, or does Zoro clash it to a halt? because if not then Zoro can't even match hybrid Yamato let alone beat Oden in a fight.

The alternative would be saying Sommer swinging gram is more powerful than Hybrid Kaido's bagua and would beat it in a head on clash.

The take was always « a fully aware and mastering Adv CoC Zoro is stronger than Oden ».
People can agree or disagree but the take was this one.
Now funnily enough at the end of Sommers’s fight Zoro might be the character(and the some) people thought he was at the end of Wano.

But that's what it hinges on. It didn't make sense to me back then that all of a sudden Zoro would have mastered adv coc just like that.

And I thought that especially because of the Oden wielded enma as light as a feather line. So it goes in line with mastering adv coc to wield enma more efficiently. It didn't make sense to me that Zoro would say that and then have it mastered in the same arc.

So now that we understand zoro wasn't even utilising coc conciously, it makes that statement more meaningful. My argument for oden was always that even though zoro can have higher AP, Oden is much more efficient at using the exact same sword and with swordsmanship in general.

My argument was that Zoro would die of haki depletion just to be able to hang with oden , so he'd be draining stamina while Oden wouldn't be breaking a sweat. Even if Zoro's AP was higher Oden can just block attacks and defend with acoc. Defending is much more plausible when zoro can even block a combined hakai for a time.

So oden should be able to defend against Zoro's higher ap attacks while zoro drains in stamina, that was my argument back then

The story proves right but because of the shonen tropes, it seems logical to think that Zoro mastered the powered up he got the moment he got it. But it is what it is.
