Naruto is the one piece of work you have to watch not read to truly conceptualize the characters because I don’t know what it was but Studio Pierrot really struck lightning with that adaptation. Maybe it’s a mix of seeing the choreography animated that Kishimoto worked so hard on that makes it a real anamoly amongst Shonen.
The fact Naruto forums are more active than One Piece forums despite Naruto having ended 12 years ago whole One Piece being in the heat of its final saga tells you all you need to know
