Gaban was on his deathbed just a few chapters ago, and now he is here, injured, old, and holding back the supposed final villain. Imu is much weaker than I thought. Kaido, Whitebeard, and Roger genuinely have a legitimate chance of being stronger than Imu.

It's been hinted since very early that the roger crew is waiting for the destined pirate crew, which makes sense they would hold the final poneglyph for them.

Luffy is the weakest Emperor. He needed a ridiculous amount of help, and Kaido had to be nerfed by carrying an entire island. Even then, it took a miracle for Luffy to finally defeat him,and the strongest attack in the entire series.

But even so, Luffy > Prime Gaban. That’s not even up for debate.

Which is a thing mostly because the old legends like Rayleigh, Gaban, and even Sengoku/Garp, aren't active anymore. They just stay in their lanes enjoying the rest of their lives. Garp and Sengoku sometimes do some stuff, but it's mostly to support the actual active marines, whether it is the SWORD agents, or the current admirals.

Kaido and Big MOm, despite being considered old gen pirates, were still active agents in the world by the time the SHs faced them. They were the current ||filler|| Yonkos.

Which is why we never heard this "world's strongest" hearsay from Kaido until post-TS AFTER Whitebeard (said to the world's strongest at the time) was already out of the picture.

Yonko commanders are trash, just as Green Bull said. Admirals cannot afford to lose to them, so in the end, everything comes down to Kaido.

Kaido is known worldwide for one-on-one fights. We saw the CP0 agent explain and demonstrate just how important those duels are to him. The Gorosei knew that interfering with Kaido’s fight against Luffy on the rooftop would enrage him, and they were afraid of provoking him.

Everything comes down to Kaido. If Gaban goes to Wano, it means facing him one-on-one. Kaido even released Big Mom so he could kill her in a one-on-one fight. His subordinates are not allowed to interfere in his duels.

Even Whitebeard, who was two or perhaps several times stronger than Gaban and possessed military power comparable to Kaido’s, avoided a direct confrontation with Kaido for decades.
