Chapter Discussion ONE PIECE CHAPTER 1190 : Those who are rejoiced at Death

People calling Luffy "pathetic", seem to forget that he is a 19 year old teenager with funny hormones. Give him a 2 arcs or few, he is going to defeat Imu and become the strongest being in the world. For simple comparison Zoro, at the same age, had even not yet started his journey.

It's something like:

Ace and Sabo: prodigy level 1
Zoro and Sanji: prodigy level 2
Luffy and Coby: prodigy level 3

All six guys are much stronger than anyone else at the same age, but they're not where they need to be just yet. Luffy by even the age of Law, who's also much younger than most, should beat Imu quite cleanly

Now, who makes anything out of their talent is another thing. Ace died young aged 20 and had the wrong mind set but his talent was wild. Unofficially stronger than legendary YC1 Marco and King, I doubt neither would have given BB as much trouble as Ace did.

Coby almost kept sweeping the floor at Alvidas. But somehow his Grit and Compassion made him able to absorb Garps teachings even better than Kuzan. He is still, probably, the weakest of all but his ceiling is monstrous. And I would not be surprised if he could already take out quite a few Shichibukai.

Sabo survived Imu + 5 Gorosei. Absolute legend. 24-26 vs Ace.

Zoro and Sanji are good dudes but they have not shown anything compared to Sabo and Ace.

He's said this in the past. It kills tension if Luffy is too strong.

He is a bad author then, a good author can make his character OP and still has tension in the manga.

Even an average author like OPM can do it, just shows that Japanese manga authors pale in comparison to legends like Shakespeare and other known literature authors.

Ace died so there's nothing further. Where he left off, he pretty much had a performance against Blackbeard comparable to Law's... except that version of Blackbeard was notably less powerful.

Sabo is still alive, and thus far he's not even a conqueror. I think that Sanji and Zoro will probably have better feats by the end of this arc. If Oda ever allows them to be 22 years old, they'll be that much better.

It's just funny how people were trying to slide in Oden between Ray and Gaban when the latter duo were constantly portrayed as near equals. There was nothing that Ray had over Oden which Gaban doesn't. This whole conjecture was because Ray apparently had feats which Oda would never give Gaban (based on nothing but a false presupposition which doesn't make sense since Ray ~ Gaban is what was constantly said). Now Gaban has surpassed him in terms of feats and now the feat wankers need to fall back upon good ol' portrayal.

This chapter gives a little more role to Gol D. Roger. People recently perceived that,with the Joy Boy/Nika lore,Roger lost his importance in the story. But,with the Gaban's dialogues,we can understand that its Roger's charisma that is pushing people like Rayleigh,Gaban and Shanks to believe in Luffy and in the new era

Yes - but he managed to hit Imu + Kamudo looks like one of the coolest attacks ever + his speech + the fact that he's old + he moves like Luffy during the fight with Kaido - (he doesn't focus all his attention on Imu etc.)
