I wonder if this translation is backward. It's a bit weird for Gaban to say "I could say the same about you" if Imu told him simply "Old as thou art. Thou are still the pirate King's crew". It would make a little bit more sense if Imu told him "Thou may be the pirate King's crew, thou art still old"

Btw
He's basically saying that despite being old, Gaban's still of his legendary stature. It just makes for an awkward translation with the Shakespearean attempt

The further lines have Imu asking if Luffy's really worth it and Gaban repeating his point that Imu's effort is opposite but equal.

That's why Gaban said stay at home. Point is he got killed in Wano, rescued by Giants in egghead and old injured person had to save him in Elbaf. Luffy shouldn't be so full of himself, if he constantly needs saving every arc.
Luffy also had Future Sight and had used it for an entire arc more or less by the time Guernica sneaked him and caused Kaido to "kill" Luffy.

Like, he should have been able to see that coming.

I guess that canonical answer would be that as an elite CP0 Agent, Guernica would be able to conceal his presence like Shamrock and Gunko did in Elbaph.

But until we get confirmation, I'm bitching.

The funniest thing to me about this picture is I'm pretty sure the object representing Saturn in Saturn's planetary model is actually another fucking potato (that is also very badly peeled)

I hope we're not done with silhouette Imu, such an iconic meme character at this point.

Perhaps, but my problem with that line is the emphasis on the "legendary part". This transform the line into a compliment (as he explains that despite being old, he is still a legendary pirate). But Gaban is not replying to a compliment here, but an attack. This is a minus details, but I think important to understand that what Gaban is saying is not "I could also say that you are legendary", but "I could also say that you are old, because I know that you come from the age of Joyboy", which further the point to Imu that Gaban knows his story.

It would be a lot deeper that way and I think this is what this translation is missing. (even tho I can't confirm it, can't read japanese, it's just deduction)

So is there a chance he might push Imu to high diff if he up his ACoC and starts fighting seriously?
I think Imu is about to leave anyway so Luffy will not have to fight for long or to push Imu to his limit. What Luffy needs to do right now, is perharps show Imu his potential with a simple strong attack. Something impactfull enough to push Imu into retreat for good but not strong enough to damage him.

I Took me to get that the Numbers on garlings potato could refer to chapter Number

But Rayleigh is not replying to a compliment here, but an attack. It's not Rayleigh bro. You're really confusing yourself but maybe it'll make sense with the official release.

He needs to go home, it just doesn’t make sense that people like Shanks, Rayleigh, Gaban, Loki, Xebec, Roger, Whiteboard and Garp are inherently strong while Luffy requires Gear 5th and is still weak.

Why is this happening? How does this make sense? Maybe he’s just not cut out to be the pirate king, he’s a trash MC just like Naruto, Ichigo and Gon who need constant saving and help and most of the time they don’t beat opponents on their own.

Or maybe my reading comprehension is just bad and I’m missing the message these authors are trying to tell us, be a bitch? Is that what they’re saying?
this is why I like chinese xianxia novels and authors...japanese shounen authors are too c*cks to show MC overpowered even for a certain period.....and always emphasise a trash underdog narrative which is overused ....Oda lacks balls to draw overpowered Luffy even for a bit and always comes up with bullshit drawbacks no character had in the entire series

Luffy is not weak per say, simply unfocused and cocky. His loss here is only due to his own behavior. He is not using his power to fight, he is currently playing with them.
No, simply Oda lacks guts to draw a serious Luffy fight ....so he draws bullshit....I don't think there will be any fight like Luffy vs Lucci or Luffy vs Katakuri at any point of time in the series...it will all be dickteasing and escaping....

Yes sorry my brain fog kicked in, I was talking abouit Rayleigh elsewhere on another subject, mixed up the two. Gaban*

Luffy has been overpowered multiple time before. I think you are projecting. The problem of Luffy has nothing to do with power here. It has been prepared since Wano, Luffy is playing and do not pay attention. Probably a bit because of his fruit, probably a bit because he got cocky and full of himselve too much.

The point is, he needs to lock in.

Oda needs to hurry up, all this set up and stalling is going nowhere, Oda is wasting our time, 4 years post-Wano and there’s still no payoff of all the lore and we still don’t have any good showing or exciting fights from our characters.

I've waited 20 years for a spec of lore, I think you can wait 6 month to have two or three lore drop mate. Enjoy the story and the present moment, it's beyond fire at the moment.
