General & Others Now that Gaban has had his Old Legend Showcase keep the same energy when Luffy shows ya’ll who the real legend is!

Oda has a way of giving the old legends great moments before the inevitably lose. Gaban is no exception. That doesn’t shock me. What actually amazes me is how the fandom overreacts and is willing to downplay the MC like he isn’t going to get up and have a better showing.

Don’t move the goal post when Luffy shows out, because we all know it’s going to happen. It’s just a matter of when.

The only goalposts being moved here are by the people who believed Gaban wouldn’t perform half as well as he did, but are now pretending like he didn’t do good enough as an injured 80 year old. Yes, the MC always looks good in the end. What are you flexing here?
I’m not flexing any thing outside of the fact that it’s dumb to shit on the one person that’s guaranteed to have better feats. You can appreciate one character without trashing another.

Also I haven’t seen anyone say Gaban didn’t do good enough lol. It would take an idiot to expect Gaban to have a shitty performance after we’ve seen how Garp, Rayleigh, and WB performed.

The author is trashing Luffy through Gaban. We, as the audience, aren’t meant to look at Luffy in a favorable light here; he’s supposed to be better. That’s the point. When he gets his act straight, then we can praise him. But, as Gaban said, an injured old father shouldn’t be putting his life at risk like he has been. Luffy cost his savior and Colon’s father an arm, and he hasn’t redeemed himself for that yet. You’re mixing up the expectations here.

The MC and jesus of the series is going to show out at some point! Just you wait! Heard it here first :milaugh:
Also the "Gaban is no exception" plug is shameless as fck lol

No sir not mixing expectations up. This happens constantly with Luffy. I’m a Luffy fan and trashed him, probably the biggest Luffy fan on the forum.

Saying that Gaban is stronger than Luffy etc. though is ridiculous. I also believe Gaban had a decent performance but that doesn’t make him > Luffy.

You luffy fans never learn.
What's the point of getting a W after lossing and dieing, people saving you, or you running away.
:lawsigh:
I can never manage to respect luffy as a fighter.
Atleast Zoro and Sanji finish their fights in one go.

We haven’t even seen Imus state from Gabans attack yet
We have seen it lol. It's nothing more than a cut on above his eye.

If Kamudo didn't do anything what do you expect the weaker attack to do? That only managed to give some time that's all. Imu is either in underworld or already flewback to sun world.

Time is only what Gaban bought not nerfs.

Actually every Loki fan said he didn't do shit. Because he did not only better than Luffy but he also did better than Loki.

On topic, everybody knows Luffy is going to do better soon but it doesn't erase the first jobbing which is partly due to G5 carelessness.

Anyways to actually engage the crux of this thread. I'm not really sure what exactly "some" of you Luffy fans are pressed about (exempting mandem like Welkin and Tesla (even though the latter's been bugging since the chapter came out lol) coz they are based), Luffy is the MC and quite literally the jesus of the series and even with Gaban showing out, he still bigs up Luffy as the man he and all the other notable legends of the past have been waiting for, so yes Luffy will indeed redeem himself in the next few chapters it's not rocket science. Will say though that a little bit of humility will take some y'all a long way coz if you're taking Ls as a Luffy fan in this series then it is almost certainly self-inflicted :risisweat:
