Oda really had to remove Shanks 2.0 from the Plot with some dumbass reason
I would say thats more just Oda giving Pre TS Luffy inconsistent feats with how strong other characters are suposoed to be. Lol. Later in the same arc he slams Magellan into a wall with a G3 kick coated in wax that is supposed to be as hard as iron, and Magellan walked it off with no real damage seconds later. A G2 attack should do nothing at all to him if he could do that, let alone how strong he was portrayed to be. 😅
Its like Oda wanted to have his cake and eat it too. Like how Luffy could slam BB into a wall and cause him to start bleeding from the head when in reality he shouldn't have even been able to HURT him given the powe gap (even taking into account that BB feels more pain than normal. The power gap was JUST that big. Lmao). Or how Oda somehow wanted us to believe that Luffy was a threat to Crocodile in Marineford, while simultaneously having Croc evenly clash with Doflamingo, shrug off named attacks from Jozu, and stall Mihawk.

My God, this manga has gone downhill so bad, it's almost comical.
It's not like One Piece was ever known for having high stakes, but these days it has ZERO stakes.
None. Nada. Niente.
Literally nothing has any sort of consequence, not even when the Demon King of the world shows up in person.
Sanji and Zro getting destroyed? Don't worry, they're up and totally fine the next chapter.
Gerd gets her fingers chopped off? No worries, they sew them back the very next chapter.
Loki gets impaled? Don't worry, he's back with goofy trash talking the very next chapter (bonus: happened twice this arc).
Luffy gets skewered by Imu? Nah, no biggie, he is totally fine the very next chapter and even gets a new powerup to make this even more ridiculous.
Complete Mickey Mouse manga.
I know why I quit it after more than 20 years and almost regret looking up what happened the past few months.
