I 100% agree. Luffy is literally "stretching" reality.
I think it connects back to the Mother Flame.
When Luffy went into Gear 5, he looked liked he was melting:
Why did "death" unlock Gear 5? Because, he returned fully to the beginning, to the "Mother Flame", the source of all life.
Radiation alters genetics. In some ways, radiation is the ultimate, yet "worst" form of evolution: it forcibly mutates. But, what if you can control that radiation, that mutation?
Then... you could twist DNA/Lineage Factor/reality into anything you wanted, correct?
That's what I think Gear 5 is.
The "Dawn", the Mother Flame, radiation itself, being controlled to alter Luffy's genetics/Lineage Factor at will. This explains Red Hawk, and Luffy's fire-based abilities: the heat is coming from Mother Flame.
Luffy is able to "stretch" because nature/Mother Flame loves him, and lets him "melt" his own body, allowing it to be malleable.
So, I think "Mother Flame" loves Luffy, but "Mother Sea" hates him, as Vegapunk states here.
Robin's reaction to Vegapunk saying this always bothered me, what the HELL did Monkey D. Dragon tell Robin over the Time Skip?
