Yeah, I view Gear 5 as the peak that Joy Boy obtained, and that Luffy has currently reached.
I think Luffy will surpass the past, and push Gear 5 into a new realm Joy Boy and the OG Nika failed to.
Luffy will have enough allies to teach him how to fully use his Fruit/powers, whereas Nika and Joy Boy never were able to reach their full potential.

I get the symbolism.....I just find it a wee bit offputting that the so-called Sun Gods are a rubber man and a lightning dragon respectively.
I guess I was expecting them to have more in common with the actual sun, which incidentally is why I thought Loki might have been Surtur.

York's trait is Greed. Do you really think... she was fine, being just one of them? No... I think York had plans to rule the world, and that's why Teach will like her.
Blackbeard was trying to use Koby to become part of the WG, to get into the Reverie. Why? Same reason as York, IMO, get close enough to the CDs to steal information, to eventually replace them.
I think York had the same overall goal as Teach: replace the Celestial Dragons. To York, she is smarter than everyone else, so she should rule the world. Teach's motives are more murky, but he clearly believes that the Davy Clan has been wronged, and wants to fix that himself.
IMO, Teach would respect York's willingness to get close to the CDs, just so she could betray them and take over.
