Gaban literally have objective better portrayal than Oden, if Imu proase your strength while calling luffy weak. It is simple and easy to connect the dots.
Too many people on twitters on denial on Old Gaban hype and Imu compare him to Rock Xebec with strong statement. Imu recognize Gaban strength grow and wish to time travel at Gav to kill off GV gaban because current Gaban is near or Rock Xebec level.

The problem is it's not even an actual comparison.

Gaban having the strength to pose a problem to Imu =/= being equal to Xebec. You can be anywhere from the level required to damage Imu, up to where Xebec is.

Xebec has taken absolutely zero damage from fighting Imu during God Valley, so there is no telling how far he would push Elbaf Imu, even if he would eventually lose.

I have my opinion thinking Imu will be defeat at Elbaf for narrative wise for luffy to defeat him yes more power up for luffy.
I mean. Imu is showoff so many powers to be not defeated unlike most characters at marineford. Not even Doflimingo does that, barley few moves. Oda like secret and surprised but I have believe oda would randomly showcase Imu and his power and even new form. It seem different than Shonen villains type with many forms.

I think Oden and Gyaban are around the same level and that Oda just does an ass job of portraying power at times.

I think at this point Oden vs Kaido has to be the most disappointing fight this manga has produced, it just makes both characters look weak and stupid. I don't why people think Rock killing Admiral is anti feat for C3 admirals, Issho, Aramaki. Nameless Admiral is not compare to these Admirals and he can be weakest one like big mom or Garling level. In WCI, the old lady think big mom potential is Admiral when talking to cp0, the old age Admiral before garp or sengoku are weaker.

It is no wonder Rock Xebec kill Admiral easily because it is not mid gen , garp or sengoki, even he has hostages.
